Cruzeiro Reject Liverpool Bid For Edu Dracena

Cruzeiro Reject Liverpool Bid For Edu Dracena

Quote:
European champions Liverpool have had a bid for Cruzeiro defender Edu Dracena rejected, according to the Brazilian club's director of communications Valdir Barbosa. On behalf of the Premiership outfit, ex-footballer Wilson Gottardo offered €1 million to take the 24 year old on loan from January, with a further €3,5 million to be paid if they wanted to make the deal permanent at the end of the current English season. Edu Dracena has not played since Cruzeiro's loss in the final of the Campeonato Mineiro back in April. The former Olympiakos man picked up a knee injury which later required surgery, but after initially fearing he would not return to action until 2006, Edu Dracena is in line to make his comeback this Saturday, when Cruzeiro take on Santos in Round 35 of the Brasileirão. Liverpool have previously expressed an interest in signing Benfica's Brazilian international Luisão, Diego Lugano of São Paulo and emerging Atlético-PR stopper Paulo André.
