"All-time top 5", Juve style ...
Ok, well this month's issue of FourFourTwo arrived, and there is a lot in there on Juventus. One of the things that struck me is they had people choose the 5 greatest defenders, midfielders and goal-scorers of all time for Juve and I thought the lists were both a little off and skewed towards the modern teams. Anyhow, here is what they came up with, feel free to comment:
Marco Tardelli's 5 best midfielders
1. Zidane [96-2001] Ok, not a bad choice here ...
2. Giuseppe Furino [69-84]
3. Edgar Davids [98-2004] strikes me as a little high for him, though he was outstanding to be sure.
4. Emerson [2004-] Ok, bad pick imho. Outstanding player, but he's been with the squad for barely a full season, come one now ...
5. Didier Deschamps [91-99]
Overall not a terrible list ... but there's more to come.
Pietro Vierchowod's Top 5 defenders
1. Claudio Gentile [73-84]
2. Fabio Cannavaro [2004-] Ok, how can the guy be Juve's second all-time greatest defender after a season only??
3. Lilian Thuram [2001-]
4. Gaetano Scirea [75-88]
5. Jurgen Kohler [91-95]
Ok, not a terrible list, though a terrible number 2 selection ... but the worst is yet to come in my opinion ...
Paolo Rossi's Top 5 Goal Machines
1. Michel Platini [82-87] Good start to the list ...
2. Roberto Baggio [91-95] My all time favorite player, and one of the all time greats of football in my opinion, but too high for a Juve-only list in my humble opinion.
3. Pippo Inzaghi [97-2001]
4. Ibrahimovic [2004-]
5. Christian Vieri [96-97]
Ok now ... Ibra here after only a year, Vieri who only spent two years here and is far, far more recognized as an Inter player, and no Del Piero? Yes, I am a DP hater on the national level, but he's been outstanding for Juve, I would think he would have to be top-three really, and surely top-5 worthy. What a crappy list ...
Anyways, comment away ...

Firstly, whatever people may think about Del Piero if we're talking about goalscorers then he should definatly be in the top 5. And how the hell did Vieri get in after one average season with Juve?

I would take Zambro over Canna though I love Canna since his Parma days. It's funny why Pippo and Vieri is on the list. I would pick Trez ahead of Ibrahim, with DP rite behind Platini and then Robbie. Boniperti should be in top 5 surely.
