pearce over the blue moon

Stuart Pearce is delighted that City go into the international break on the back of the 2-0 win over Everton.
Speaking immediately after the game, the Manager was pleased with the result while honestly assessing a performance that took some time to come to life, which it did with Danny Mills magnificent strike on 72 minutes.

"We're all pleased," said Pearce. "As results go if you keep a clean sheet and score two goals at one end, with one being a wonder strike, I'm delighted. There are a lot of things we can get better, the tempo's got to be better and the passing's got to be better, and maybe we have got to mix our game up a touch more.

"A couple of week's ago we played ten times better than that and got beat 1-0
yeah we know

Tried to avoid the result all day so i could watch it when i got home on tape. Partly gutted, but the win more than makes up for not being there.

Nice one lads.

It was a proper screamer. Mills was ace today, even without the goal, hope he's turned a corner a la dunne, barton etc...

lol. they were even screaming SHOOT! when he was in our half. What a screamer it was though!

Ireland and Barton were top class in the centre today, their range of passing was great to watch. Musampa and Sibierski keep going lower and lower in my opinions think they getting worse by the match, I think Croft has gotta be constantly playing 90 minutes on that right, he has deserved it.

Vassel proved what I have always thought of him and thats that his finishing isnt all that much, decent goal though I suppose but his performance was below par unfortunately

"oh danny mills, he not rubbish anymore,he's not rubbish anymore"

quality goal that. "danny for england !!"

i agree that croft needs more than substitute appearances.he turned the game for us imo.don't know what pearce see's in sibierski. i would have took him off rather than musampa.

don't go too far.

Ireland has looked good, a central midfielder that gives us attacking options! what! Barton made a quality pass for the goal, his passing is the only thing that usually lets him down in my opinion.

Musampa's honeymoon period seems to be coming to an end, Thatcher looks a much better option over Jordan, he just gets on with being a left back, nothing exceptional and nothing silly. Dunne and Distin, nothing needs saying to be honest. Mills? One goal won't make me hop on any band wagon, but he has looked better this season. Still needs improvement.

Cole and Vassell is good enough for now, we need an out an out goal scorer in January. If we could bring in some one like Ashton, along with Wright-Phillips we'd have 4 good options. Shame we didn't get Bent. Bry will disagree with me but thatst the kind of player with our finances we should be looking at, its no surprise how good he has been in the Premiership.

Croft. Always liked him so glad to see him getting a chance. With him and Sinclair fit and performing we have a decent enough right wing.

2/3 signings in January and we should be able to keep this up.
