make or break for our season ?

Spurs, Betis and the Mancs are our next three games and then after them we play the chavs twice ,we'll either be in despair and hearing cries of sack the board or we could be pleasantly surprised ,its where we get to see the true mettle of liverpool with their backs against the wall and see what they are made of .

come on the reds we might have no wide players we might have no defensive cover and er we might be depressed at the moment with our lack of signings but raffa will get us through it (I hope ) the likes of cisse ,morientes ,pongolle and yes even kewell will have to step up and take on the challenge .

I wont predict a score or anything for our game because last time I did Kanoute gave the liverpudlians one over on me ****er

However, I think we will give you a game and a half. Our left back position has just been strengthened with Lee coming in from PSV. Not sure if Ledley King will be back or not, I hope he is though, Garnder is looking a bit shakey for us. I'm hoping Lennon will start, he's got some ******* pace on him! He will run Zenden ragged.

think the game will be tottenham will be hard as **** mind you so will the manc and chelsea games there will be let up it will be intense pressure from start to finish ,its crucial we pick up points and considering there are a lot of people tipping tottenham for fourth place it would be nice to beat them to shut people up and make them take notice of us for the right reasons instead of not signing anyone .

I have a bit of soft spot for tottenham my sister used to liver near their training ground and me and my brothers would go down and get the players autographs when we visited ,it was at the time of klinsman and sheringham ,traditionally a bigger club than the chavs and they deserve to do well with their squad but not too good and not better than us hope they do better than newcastle as well you can shut that lot up too ,I am sick of the geordies gloating .

not worried about Chelsea and manc games...

Our team will always perform against them... especially at home... wether we win or not...

Spurs game, a bit worried about... but maybe the fact that alot of people are expecting spurs to do well... will "spur" our lads on to do better...

Its a bit early to be talking about make or break. It all depends what we are looking for from our season. Its pretty obviuos this early on we won't win the league, but we should still be there challenging for the next 3 places. Arsenal are certainly weaker and are a realistic aim, and I feel we'll finish above Spurs, Everton and Bolton. As for Europe, if we make the last 8 we'll have done well and as last year proved, over 2 legs we can beat anybody, which gives us another chance, though I doubt we'll win it again.
But even if we lost all 3 games, there's still loads to play for yet.

Its a very important period for us.i hope we beat man utd at home.spurs away will be really really tough.I would like us to win but a draw wont be a bad result. The first 2 champions league games are hard to.betis(away) and chel$ki(home).man utd(home) will be tough too..but i think we can beat them.they haven't been tested yet in the league.and everton looked good against them in the first half strike fear among every other team.

I too see Spurs as the toughest out of the lot and maybe Betis. I'd be pleased if we dont lose any of these two.

As for make or break, I'm pretty sure it's going to pop up at sometime in the season but I hope not.

How can people put Spurs in the same sentence as Chelsea or United? I wouldn't put one of their players in either the other two's best 11. They were well beaten by Chelsea after failing to beat 10 man Blackburn. If we lose at Spurs, then we've not progressed as a team on last season.

The thing is that we're playing away at Spurs and they have shown us that they can be a hard team to beat at home. On the other hand, in the "bigger matches" against the likes of Chelsea and Utd (whom we are playing at home soon), the players automatically raise there game to a different level, the home crowd plays it's part too. Remember last season Juve and Chelsea in the CL, both teams we're better than us on paper but we still beat them.

Second part, how can you say that based on a single game?

Also remember losing to Chelsea and United in the league last season, indeed we only beat Chelsea once in 5 games losing 3.
People seem to basing Spurs on wins against Portsmouth and Boro, not on anything else. If they had improved, surely the Chelsea game was the tester for them and they failed again.
Again how many Spurs players would make United or Chelsea's best 11? I say none, though you could argue Robinson in United's.
Spurs are a media side, built up by the fact half the press corp support them. Most of their signings are unproven at Premeirship level and if Alonso and Gerrard can't get the better of Carrick and old man Davids, we won't beat United or Chelsea.
