Vs Huddersfield
Quote:
Gary Megson takes his much-changed squad into Saturday's first game of the season desperately keen to get the campaign off to a winning start.
The Nottingham Forest boss realises the need to get up and running as quickly as possible following the huge disappointment of the relegation season.
But Forest could be facing easier opposition than that presented by Peter Jackson's Huddersfield Town, who ended last season in brilliant form and have carried that into their pre-season build-up.
Recent Form
Forest have won only one in six pre-season games but manager Gary Megson and the players are fully aware that the real action starts this weekend.
Huddersfield have lost only once in pre-season games and finished last season in League One with seven wins and a draw in their last eight games.
Key Clash
Forest's new-look defence has been in mean form in pre-season games but they will face a severe examination from a Huddersfield front line that oozes goal potential.
Former Preston striker Pawel Abbott scored 27 goals last season and he has the evergreen Andy Booth alongside him. Huddersfield have also signed Gary Taylor-Fletcher from Lincoln.
Past Meetings
In 38 meetings between the two clubs in league and cup, Huddersfield have so far come out on top with 16 wins to Forest's nine.
Last Time They Met
That was in the 2000-2001 season when the sides drew 1-1 at The McAlpine Stadium and Huddersfield won 3-1 at The City Ground.
Huddersfield, who were bottom of the table at the time, scored three times in eight minutes through Peter Ndlovu and Kevin Gallen (2) and although Andy Reid replied for David Platt's side, Forest could find no further response.
Nottingham Forest 1 v 3 Huddersfield Town 13 December 2000
Nottm Forest: Beasant, Edwards, Bart-Williams, Calderwood, Olsen, Scimeca (Gray,76 ), Jones, Prutton, Foy, Reid, John (Harewood, 45 )

Huddersfield: Vaesen, Jenkins, Dyson, Armstrong, Gray, Baldry, Heary, Thornley (Vincent ,86 ), Holland,Gallen (Facey ,78 ), Ndlovu (Gorre ,89 )
Subs not used: Margetson, Irons
Attendance: 28372
Referee: C R Wilkes (Gloucester)
In the return game Ricky Scimeca gave Forest the lead but Delroy Facey equalised for The Terriers.
Dressing Room Latest
Gary Megson has to decide whether to throw this week's signings Danny Cullip and John Curtis into the fray for the first game.
Huddersfield have a doubt about defender Nathan Clarke but his younger brother Tom, who is regarded very much as a star of the future, could deputise.
Forest Bet
Forest Home Win 4/5
Forest To Win 2-0 6/1
Gareth Taylor to score 5/4
Kris Commons to score first 15/2
Ian Breckin to score last 28/1

No fewer than seven players are looking to make their Nottingham Forest debuts in tomorrow's League One curtain raiser against Huddersfield at The City Ground (kick-off 3pm).
Summer signings Gary Holt, Ian Breckin, Nicky Eaden, Nicky Southall, Rune Pedersen, Gino Padula and Danny Cullip are expected to be included in Gary Megson's squad.
The other 'new' boy John Curtis, who returned to The City Ground earlier this week on a two year contract after a three-month spell at the Club last season, will join them in the squad for the visit of The Terriers.
Transfer-listed striker David Johnson will be hoping to have done enough in pre-season to force his way into the manager's squad.
But Alan Rogers, another of the players 'listed' at the end of last season, is ruled out through suspension

Aye, I think we've covered everything now though.
Who's going to this game then? I am and I can't wait, I'm excited and dangerously optimistic. I'll be buying the LTLF fanzine to see what it's like before the game also. C'mon You reds.
Quick prediction:
Forest 2 - 1 Huddersfield
Yes, shock I actually feel optimistic
