Milan sign Eleftheropoulos

Great goalkeeper, should be a very good cover for Dida. It seems like 9 years at Olympiakos didnt go to waste after all. :USA_Blue

When I said great, I actually meant great Kaka22. Height of 1.90 m, amazing reflexes, aerial ability, aniticipation and agility. Great shotstopper obviously, but he can do much more. A goalkeeper of the Buffon mould. Only weakness the fact that he has a different style of goalkeeping. Huge champions league experience, 9 years at the top team in Greece winning championships and cups. One season at Messina where he pulled out all the stops.

Started at 19 at Olympiakos and remains the top goalkeeping talent of Greece in the last 10 years. Top goalkeeper in the 98-99 Champions league as a 22 yr old.
Those are just some of his credentials.

you legend!

dont make a fool out of yourself he cant handle crosses even if his life depended on him and his reflexes arent amazing at all (not sh¡t either)

but this guy is a joke wasnt even a starter for messina!!

BTW in the 10 games he started...

he conceded 17 goals and won only once!!

Maybe you should blame his defence. I didnt say he was god, I was pointing out his strengths and weaknesses for those that are interested. There has to be something good about him if Milan decide to buy him (even though Milan's goalkeeping choices are doubtful sometimes.) Also, have you seen him play at all? If he can pull out all the stops against Juventus in Champions league he can do it in Serie A too, and isnt that what Milan fans want?

only thing that was good was because he was signed on a bosman

yes i have seen him play

i dont blame his defence because in the 10 games he only played against Inter....the others were of Messina's level

so he is just pathetic

Nikopolidis (sp?) >>>>>>>>Heleftyou

Nikopolidis and Eleftheropoulos have completely different styles if play so its kinda hard to compare the two. Nikopolidis is textbook; the way he plays could be used in a freaking goalkeeping manual! Eleftheropoulos has a more "wild" style of play. Alot of saves with his feet etc, in other words unorthodox. But he can also come up with more huge saves then Nikopolidis, even though the latter looks and gives a feeling of confidence to his teammates.

As to who's better, its Nikopolidis, but dont forget his age (34 compared to 28) and the fact that he has more experience, but on his best day Eleftheropoulos blows Nikopolidi out of the park. Eleftheropoulos also had some injury problems early on which sidelined him for a while.

I think overall Eleftheropoulos was a good choice for backup.
