Over 500,000 entries have already been recorded at the half-time stage in the Coca-Cola Win A Player promotion, and a staggering 100,000 of these have been from supporters of the Midlands football teams, proving just how serious their fans are to win the £1/4m prize fund for their beloved club.

Coventry City fans have shown fantastic support for their club, amassing a total of 18,020 entries to date. Derby County's faithful have also been getting right behind their side, recording an impressive 15,882, leaving East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest (13,707) and Leicester City (11,035) with some catching up to do.

Elsewhere, Port Vale (6,445), Wolverhampton Wanderers (5,613) and Stoke City (5,132) fans continue to show their support for their clubs and have kept their entries rolling in. There's still plenty of time left for followers of Walsall (2,809), Shrewsbury (2,573) and Kidderminster (2,203) to give their team some extra backing to ensure a fan from the Midlands will be announced as the winner at the Championship Play-Off final on 30th May 2005.

The lucky-dip mechanic used to choose the winner ensures that every fan has a chance of winning no matter how many entries their club has accumulated throughout the promotion.

With 30 days left of the promotion there's plenty of time for fans to vote to win the £250k prize fund for their club.

Fans can enter once a day, every day, by simply texting the word player followed by the name of their Football League or Scottish Premier League club to 80089 or online at www.coca-colafootball.co.uk.

The lucky winner will be picked at random and will be announced live on Sky Sports at the Coca-Cola Play-Off final on 30th May 2005.

The winner will also receive a personal cheque for £10,000.
