DJ sits it out
David Johnson opted to miss Forest's game at Rotherham on Saturday after being told he would not be playing or even be on the bench.
The striker was originally named in the 20-strong party to travel to Millmoor.
However, it is understood boss Gary Megson gave him the option to train instead, after telling the striker he would take no part in the match.
Johnson opted to stay and then watch Notts County take on Mansfield Town at Meadow Lane - where he was spotted by a Post photographer.
The striker was linked with loan moves to Hull and Wolves last week after a row with his manager during the FA Cup win over Peterborough.
Megson said a quote he gave on Friday on Johnson's position had been taken out of context.
He said: "There was a quote that I said something and it was a scandalous thing that I will be trying to sort out. People have a future at the club if they have got the ability, the drive, the desire and the fitness.
"I said it makes it difficult for me to name him as sub. I send subs down to put messages on and if David doesn't want to do it, it is a consideration I make.
"I have never said he will never play again and I wouldn't say that."
