Nigel Martyn has vowed that he will fight for his place as first team goalkeeper for Leeds. He states that he does not regret missing the preseason tour of the Far East and Australia. However, he is first to admit that it would be wrong of Venables to hand him the first team place when Robinson is clearly at the top of his game.

He is confident that he is fully committed to Leeds, and will work for his place back in the team.

you're right, robinson is definately better at the moment, and I think he could well be Englands number one.

I am pleased that Paul Robinson has been given his chance, goalkeepers can only get better with first team experience.

I'm sure he will make some mistakes in the early part of the season, if he does I would like TV to stick by him and continue to pick him. Only if he makes a large number of mistakes should he be dropped.

As far as Martyn being finished I don't think so, he still has a lot to contribute, especially in developing Paul Robinson as a better player.

Terry is right to pick Robinson but its nice to hear that Martyn`s going to stay and fight for his place, a lot of players would leave for first team football.
