Subject: Dear Nigel

Dear Nigel,i am a Forest fan and have been for Nearly 21 years.I am writing
to you to see if you could explain to me why we have been so quite in the
transfer market so far this season?.
Why has season tickets gone up yet again and no new players have been
brought in??where has our money gone, alot of people have been priced out of
buying season tickets this season, and the ones that have paid good well
earned money get to watch rubbish like the game against Coventry. Our squad
has got to be by far one of the smallest in the division and we as fans
deserve better, we have a great tradition and want the chance to be up
against the best clubs in europe once again, but how is this possible if we
cannot afford to invest in new players?
I feel as though our club is just another Gillingham,Rotherham or even
Walsall but with a bigger ground,we have become known as a selling club and
we both know that both Dawson and Reid will leave us,which is fine if we get

the right price AND replace them.
I thank you for reading this e-mail and i do hope that you reply, but will
understand if you do not,i bet your sick of trying to explain yourself to
people like me

Quickly- don't think anyone else has been that active in tfrs.
Season ticket increase raised 500 which has been more than spent on
Rogers,Impey + Gerrard.
Our squad is one of the biggest as is our salary budget if one ignores the
3 relegated teams.
Nothing I can do about selling players if they are good enough and want to
go then they will end up in the Prem. We just have to ensure we get value
for them.
Sorry I can't do anything about the performances either as I hung up my
boots years ago and was never good enough anyway!
We will continue to manage the club prudently and pay our bills+debts. This
is our 1st priority not buying players.
Hope this helps.

IM SURPRISED HE EVEN BOTHERED TO REPLY REALLY SO GOOD ON U NIGEL I STILL THINK HE SIDE STEPPED THE ISSUE OF BRINGING PLAYERS IN? WHATS UR LOTS THOUGHTS ON THIS REPLY FROM NIGEL DOUGHTY?

But one good thing id say is that making sure the club is financially sound and working towards building a solid foundation for the future of Nottingham Forest

i personally respect doughty. ok the board made promioses, but he has made money avaialable to kinnear its just kinnear hasnt found the player he wants to spend that cash on yet and theres no point just spending cash on anyone.

my brother sent a smiliar email to mark arthurs who replied with a long thought out repsonse

Kinnear did say he will only bring in players who are better than what we have already.Im sure we will get the right players when we can agree terms with clubs & player.

I understand could u see any similar points then on what i posted in doughty's email?from what u can remember are they both pulling in the same direction for our club?I should imagine they both are but u hear of these power struggles at clubs like liverpool and everton? One man says no to a certain deal cos he wants his own to be used? another example is man u with their shareholders. All fighting to buy every scrap of shares so one can out dib the other in saying they own the largest majority.

essentially ady yes, it was more about the fact that reid at the time looked to be off and williams had agreed to leave. now neither really came to a satisfactory conclusion. forest were counting on ried money and more for williams to invest. neither has happeend so essentially mark arthurs email has turned out to be useless

Firstly we have not got one of the biggest squad's or salary budget's (as far as i know). Although i think our squad is big enough and good enough for a promotion push it is still not as big as other teams in this division. As for the salary budget, it is weel known that we have restricted wages and we have lost out on signing players because other teams in sa me division have offerd higher wages than us.

you can understand why we had to wage cap players. At the end of the day they have a hard job to do and balance the books firstly.make this club viable also make sure there is a club for us to go to week in week out.We are one of the oldest clubs going, imagine what u would do on a saturday if forest went to the wall Its bad enough us having a fortnite off.Bring on Cardiff saturday

At the end of the day,the guy IS a fan aswell as our chairman and from the impression i get(and not just by the e-mail i recieved)is that for the time being all he wants to do is get the financial side straight,a year two years maybe three, who knows but one thing is for sure Nottingham Forest football club will come out on top.It is frustrating from a fans point of view but i bet doughty is feeling as much as wgat we are if not more, having all said and done it is his money we want to spend

i think that he has given kinnear the money but kinnear hasn't found anyone of the quality he wants. which is fair enough on his side as we don't want more gunnarsons and sonners.
