Liverpool in the masters
Anyone see Liverpool in the final of the GB masters last night, got kocked out on pens in the semi's in the end like.
For those of you who arent here in Britain, the Masters is a tournament, 6 a side, though you have a squad of 10 for roll on roll of subs. The sqauds consist of all players who have played for your club.
We had Bolder, Kennedy A, Mike Marsh,John Wark Mark Wright, John Scales, Gary Mac, Jan Molby ( ******* legend) John Durnin, Paul Walsh.
Anyway, just thought I'd put it on, cos its amazing how the LIVERPOOL WAY, stays with you. It was like watching the Liverpool of old, the one's that are known as some of the nest teams the world ever saw. Complete controlled posession, pasing movement, patience in the build up. It was great to watch, even if it was just an "old boys" tournament.
Just have to say, Jan Molby was one of my heroes when he played for us, one of the most underated p;ayers in the world, bascially, that was cos of his size.
I think Digger once said that Jan was one of the best passers of the ball in the world, and he was, his touch, passing and vision was amazing, and he stil has it.
A legend.

I'd never heard of John Durnin but he looked a good player and scored a few goals,he missed the crucial penalty though didn't he.

Watched it last night on Sky Sports. The Everton v Liverpool match was class (just for a change). We were doing well until Jabba the Hut (aka Jan Molby) came on and put Liverpool 5-3 up with 30 seconds to go.
Molby is such a good passer of the ball it beggars belief! Just shows that class is permanent even if his waist size isn't. LOL
Everton were beaten 5-4 in the end but it was a class game.

He would make it hard to put the ball in the net. Thats a lot of play to miss! He could be a defensive wall for gods sake!

Couldn't agree more Shanks!
Firstly - the masters is boss. Must admit i dunno who that Durnin is meself but he's been in the masters for a few years, always gets a bag full.
Molby's passing is off the ******* planet. when i started goin' watchin' us he was in his heavier days but was still one of my fav. players (along with mark wright for some reason!) because his ability to weight a pass more than anythin else was a joy to watch. He knew exactly when to let go of it, when to carry it, reading of the game amazing. He scored a total blinder in one of the last few years masters, didn't even move but dropped the shoulder and dummied 3 players and a keeper in one step and just passed it home like he always did. Brilliant.

Durnin never played a league game for us.
Nobody can get near Molby, he is so good, he was always one of my faves, just used to stand in the centre circle and dictate the whole game.
