Roma targets Verpakovskis
AS Roma chief Franco Baldini is ready to rumble Wolves hopes for Skonto Riga striker Maris Verpakovskis.
The 24 year-old is a target for Wolves boss Dave Jones, who decided against signing him in August after trials. The Latvian ace is now one of the hottest talents in Eastern Europe and Baldini watched the striker turn in a five-star performance against Turkey in midweek. The Roma chief has a knack of unearthing great talent - for little money - and Skonto Riga would be happy to accept a £2 million offer for their young forward. Looks pretty promising, played well against Turkey. |

He is very promissing but I wonder if he`ll be able to fing place in the team. Should be given a chance though and if Roma decide that it is not the time yet he should be loaned to some club to get experience in a better than Latvian league. Definitely he is a great talent and should make a good career.

i think he could be a good buy, but as we can't afford to spend some more money i don't see it happen!
with carew on the bench and delvecchio who will be fit again soon, i doubt that we need any players at the moment... |
