I hope Rangers and celtic are ashamed of themselves.

They have done nothing for Scotland and Scottish football for a decade now.
Too many mercenary foreigners.

When Stuttgart played Rangers-Rangers had more Germans in their team than Scots.

Now you see the rewards.

i'm an Aberdeen fan so have no loyalty what so ever towards the old firm but its certainly not their fault the Scotland team have been so poor. Its not up to club sides to play nationals of their own country, they are looking out for themselves and thats the way it should be. If their were enough good Scottish players then they would make it in the Rangers and Celtic sides. Stop calling foreigners mercenaries, what are you living in prehistoric times or something. Football is a job for players and they can join any club they want through free trade. Foreigner imports has increased the standard of Scottish football its the Scottish born players that have let everyone down in past years because they have not been good enough. If you want to know why theirs not enough good Scottish players coming through compared to the past you need to look at the two main ways great players are produced, great facilities and coaching and kids growing up playing football on the street. Scotland's standard of living has obviously increased some what over the years so no longer can we rely on poor kids from rough neighbourhoods becoming great players so its down to the facilities. Rangers have a great facility so in reality they are probably doing more than most in creating good Scottish players obviously for their own self interests which is obviously the way they should see it.

Congratulations to the Holland team, class told I'm afraid Just too many good players against our ordinary ones, it could have been a humiliation if Holland had not let up.

Sometimes 100% effort and heart are not enough.

Remember Celtic have tried to copy Ajax in their kids football schooling for the last few years. We did not "facilities" in the past and still turned out players, kids nowadays have a huge choice of recreations, sport is not always a automatic choice as I have found out, I agree when we have kids that want to play football then we need good management ( Including facilities) of them to maximise their talents.

We cannot blame the present team, it's the best we have.

yeah i know but Rangers and Celtic are not to blame. Kids dont all want to play football anymore because we got computers,tv etc. Just replying to that idiots post that its neither the old firms fault nor foreigners.

Tough day. I don't blame Celtic nor Rangers but that talk about them entering the english league should be on hold. The loss of that defensive midfielder sure did prove to be a vital one. Keep your heads up though, you are not that far from rebuilding since 1998. Close but don't give up just yet.

What happens to Vogts now and should McAllister be the new coach since he stopped playing for LIverpool and heard he was coaching somewhere or is there someone more suited for the job?

Whatch the Rugby World Cup Final on Saterday and you will see the next big sporting nation 'England' take a well deserved World Cup, which will be followed up by winning Euro 2004 next year!

First of all, between Douglas, Gould, Ross, McNamara, Ferguson, McCann and Miller the OF was pretty well represented.

Secondly, sometimes you just get horsed. Especially when it's the #6 team vs. the #50 team in the world.

Berti has achieved his goal for this year, making the playoffs. With our young squad, I could see us qualifying for the World Cup group stages in two years' time.

I just can't help but think that things would have been better today with Lambert and Dailly on the field.

Gary McAllister is at Coventry and they are currently mid table. He might be a good choice as i am not happy with Berti as manager,i want a Scottish manager. I think if the players obviously have to be nationalists of their country then so should the manager and the coaching staff. Vogts seems a nice guy and that and he has improved things slightly but i think we need to give the job to a Scotsman. Scotland has a great record for producing great managers,Stein,Shankly and of course the most successful manager in history Sir Alex Ferguson so surely we could find someone for the job.

We just got beat by a team with much more skill, it could have easily turned into a complete rout had they not taken it easy in the last 20 mins, we just have not brought up a generation of Skillful players, not sure why, maybe football is having competition from other pastimes, why do Holland have better players than us ?

Firstly, congratulations to Holland

Oh boy, once again we build our hopes up, only to get flattened. Will we ever learn, we're just not good enough. Not quick enough, nor good enough technically.

Fletcher & McFadden give us some hope but i just don't see things greatly improving in the near future. Our U-21's were unlucky against Croatia, but honestly, how many of those youngsters showed the technique needed for International level???

Our boys gave 100% against a superior team but just weren't good enough.

Now what??? How can we improve our standard of player??? Maybe we should ship some Dutch kids over, with Scottish grand parents & let them play for us.

Other than that, i see very little hope. I'm a depressed Scot tonight.

Good luck Netherlands in Portugal!!!
