NEC has signed FC Twente midfielder Bjorn van der Doelen on loan for the rest of the season. Van der Doelen was exiled to the B squad of Twente having a disagreement with the Twente coach, the Belgian Rene Vandereijken. Van der Doelen has a contract untill 2005 at Twente. Van der Doelen played for PSV and Standard de Liege earlier in his career.

Really a good addition to the squad.

My only worries lay in the fact he hasn't played any matches on the highest level lately.

He is what we call in Dutch "een stofzuiger", a vacuum cleaner: Someone who conquerors the ball on the midfield, tries to win all second balls and puts pressure on the defense of the opposition.

Im not a VDD fan....think he was much overrated cause the PSV fans liked him.
But they didnt let him go for nothing.....he just wasnt good enough.
And he never proved them wrong in his time with Twente.

Think that he will stay more known as the guy who did get a finger in his eye then about his quallitys.

I think it's a good player and expecially a good sign for NEC. A fanatic, hard worker on the midfield. He should give NEC a bit more agression.

Good signing for NEC, indeed he is not good enough for PSV, but he has a lot of spirit, and has a good mentality! Good luck Novio, with him in your team!

v/d Doelen scored on his debut for NEC.. he gave NEC a 1-0 lead, later on extended to 2-0 by Demouge.. but sadly gave away a 2-0 lead again, just like a few weeks ago against Groningen.. PSV won with 2-3 after a huge mistake in the back, miscommunication between Gentenaar (who should have stayed in his goal) and Ebbinge.. neither of them took the ball, so Kezman decided to get the ball and put it in the empty goal
