I've been disappointed with our transfer activity.

We've got a nice fee for Pembridge but I dont see our lack of creation being solved with our signings today.

I really think its time to mould Rooney in the "hole" role behind our choice of strikers (my 1st choice being Raders and Campbell).

On a good note, I think Martyn should place pressure on Wright to perform and he may even feature.

you've been disappointed ??? how do you think pompey fans feel ??? we've signed a goalie we don't really need & Jason Roberts who stuck 2 fingers up at us 2/3 years ago.

I'll be behind these guys all the way, don't get me wrong, but I am disappointed. Harte was so close to signing until this loan ruling emerged, why oh why couldn't we have signed him first ?

Yeah they did, I guess my disappointment comes from having been linked with the likes of Davis and Ferguson.

Wouldn't have minded us strengthening our team, i would have liked to see us go for Stephen Carr.

For United, was hoping we'd get a big name but it wasn't to be, maybe another defender would have been useful but not essential, a backup for RvN useful again but there wasn't anyone, think our squad is strong enough to challenge again

If you replace RvN with Bobo, and United for Inter you can use the exact text in the Inter forum. A lot of clubs didn't sign big names this summer Mark. But I hope you're right about United chances.

Did he screw Pompey over as well? (Or did he literally stick 2 fingers up to the crowd?)

I was hearing an irate Dave Whelan on the radio today, saying Jason Roberts was on his way to Wigan for a medical, then his agent rang him and told Pompey were in for him, and he turned round and started going the other way!

The fella has no scruples.

That will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets from the crowd...is it a large number of people who don't like him? Or just the minority...I'd love it if they blanked him or booed him

I'm quite satisfied with our transfer activity for once...actually I'm over the moon although I can't understand why Roque Junior is getting so much criticism! He is a great signing!

Jermaine Pennant would be one of the best signings I have ever seen for Leeds if it becomes permanent and so far I am very impressed with Sakho and Camara, Sakho especially.

I look forward to seeing Chapuis and Olembe, too

Done Reidy and McKenzie!

7 quality players on loan and Jody Morris....and not a penny spent

The only way that McKenzie has impressed me so far is these loan deals, I think that he has revolutionised the way that transfers work with his 'try before you buy' method and has saved the club millions in the process. There are loads of clubs copying now and although it only took one person to do it before they all copied, I'm glad that McKenzie showed the initiative becuase this is something that Ridsdale certainly would not have done.

Not many people were happy with him signing but at the end of the day he is now a Pompey player so fans (hopefully) will get behind him 100% when he's out on the pitch. As long as he gives his all & doesn't take the piss then he shouldn't be booed

if you're talking about the vid, 3 out of 4 goals were Aboucherouane, i dunno who scored the second but i don't think it was him.

Pretty impressive

Were you at the Leeds game, Random? Ferdandes only had a good game because he was up against Harte, all of the other attackers were kept out of the game and as soon as Richardson came on, so was Ferdandes!

if fernandes was stopped then it is because he's a sulky t*** and he stopped playing. noone can stop him if he wants to play, even if he becomes surrounded he just ends up drilling himself into the ground.

what's fernandes got to do with this thread anyway?

ok foley ill explain to you, a couple of seasons ago, harte was very good, delivered good balls etc. but his form of late has been rather poor, maybe it is us critising him that has given him a lack of confidence, but he has got to learn chasing a snail wont help us in premiership much

as for mills - ego problem and told them to sell robbo?!?! what kind of idiot??! attitude problem too, fair do's he mightbe average on that left hand side but he gotta realise it aint gonna go far whenudont want to play for the club

I thought we did pretty good on the transfers !

And now that Yoshi has finally left us, the signing of the keeper makes much more sense.

The signing of Roberts seems strange but who hasn't changed even a little bit over 2/3 years? As long as he takes his place in the queue behind Vincent Pericard I'll be happy.
