Ribery out for 2 weeks, I thought it was going to be 2 months up to the rest of the season. I don't think we'll ever see Robbery both at their peak the way they get injured, even though in this case it was more of a case of Wolsburg players being a bunch hacking cavemen ..

Two weeks is okay by me boyo. That way he should be in peak form for Inter and not have any more chances to hurt himself closer to the game

Bayern Official News/Updates
Klose wants Bayern starting place
Germany striker Miroslav Klose has demanded he starts for Bayern Munich against ex-club Kaiserslautern tomorrow and has told coach Louis van Gaal he is not interested in a place on the bench.
Although he is second-choice at Bayern behind Germany colleague Mario Gomez, the 32-year-old Klose has an impressive goalscoring record and is desperate to face his former club at the Allianz Arena.
After more than a decade, he has scored 113 goals in 279 Bundesliga games for Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Bayern and with 58 goals for Germany, he is second on the list of all-time German goalscorers.
Quote:
I want to fight to get my place back in the starting line-up. My place is not on the bench.
Miroslav Klose, Bayern Munich striker
|
"I am fit, I am in form," Klose told German daily Bild. "I want to fight to get my place back in the starting line-up. My place is not on the bench."
Having spent 90 minutes on the bench last Saturday in the 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg, Klose is far from happy to be given limited chances behind Gomez, who has netted 12 league goals all season.
After scoring four goals in South Africa at last year's FIFA World Cup™, Klose suffered a torn leg muscle in October which has limited him to just one league appearance since.
"I want to prove to the coach that he cannot do without me," said Klose, who is out of contract in the summer but refuses to talk about leaving Bayern. "I know I can still score some important goals for Bayern."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Klose is gonna have to prove himself in order to start in the starting lineup, he always seems to show up for Germany, but for Bayern he seems to always play sloppy, I wouldnt mind him playing beside Gomez...

Ribery out for around 3 more weeks, will miss Bremen, Cologne & Hoffenheim. He could return on the 19th vs Mainz.. at least it looks the likeliest. This injury situation needs to be sorted, I really hope he stays fit for the rest of the season because he's absolutely killing us with his annoying and continuing injuries. At least Robben's injury is justified, the Dutch doctor is an idiot and the coach is desperate and was doing anything and everything to get his goal no matter the casualties. Ribery the past season and this season is missing far too many matches.
Vargas rumors not sure if there is any credibility to it, but I can see why it would make sense to get him considering Ribery is spending more time in the stands rather than on the field. Frankly it is pissing me, mostly because he's our highest paid player. Ronaldo and Messi, who are the highest paid for their teams even play full matches in Cup matches and still don't get injured. I will change part of the topic name and leave at just General News, I may have jinxed us further by adding the part where players just keep getting injured

Sounds like Bayern want Vargas for 12 million euro, but don't know if the Viola will take that offer? They might want Contento too, but that would tilt it too much the other way.
I am scared it is the law of diminishing returns with Frank from here on out.

Contento & 12m is outrageous (expensive) offer and Bayern will be stupid to pay that money. We could use Contento to get Coentrao next season.
I really don't know what to say about Ribery, he looked great the past few games before he got injured again. I think he had 5 goals & 4 assists in 4 matches and then the match vs Wolves again he was our best player until he got injured. These injuries, they keep happening so much not sure if he can find rhythm to get back to his best. Vargas at least gives us an option, for depth he would be ok but the price has to make sense. Getting Vargas at least means that Muller will be able to play in his normal playmaker/SS position rather than out wide like he has all season.

Lahm made captain, Schweini is vice-captain. There will be no 3rd captain at least no decision will be made at this moment. I thought Ribery should of been automatic 3rd captain but Van Gaal doesn't see it apparently

Boyo you laugh now, but he will likely start vs Inter Milan in a few weeks in Champions League. That's right, Van Gaal will go against all of common sense and put Schweini out of position in attacking midfield, Muller out of position in left wing so Pranjic and Ottl start at central midfield... If Inter is in form attacking, they will rip us apart because we are starting the 2 weakest central midfielders out of 6 (one of which is injured) when there are 3 other, better choices.

It's fair to say that I’m the most defensive player of all the holding midfielders we have at the club.
|
Is he serious?
Quote:
Those were your first steps in the pro game, but do you consider yourself a regular now? You’ve started the last two matches.
You can’t call yourself a regular just because you’ve had two games in the starting line-up. It’ll only be the case once I’ve played eight to ten games in a row, but I have a chance, and I intend to take it.
|
Boyo, I like you when you aren't ripping on Gomez but this is harsh. I actually didn't read it at FCB when I first saw it but now that you put the link here, I did. I had a nice morning too, having my coffee and then I read this...

Ribery has started training since a few days ago (Sunday), don't get your hopes up for him to make this match on the weekend.

Ribery?
We don't need Franck this weekend, but we do need him for the Inter Milan CL games and by the looks of the training video I saw he should be in fine shape for those games. It looks like he is already running at full pace and his quickness and speed looked very good in the 8 on 8 scrimmage that Van Gaal put them through so lets all hope for the best because having Ribery and Robben both on the pitch will move Muller to CAM and Schweinsteiger to CDM which will benefit the whole team.

Kroos starting training on Sunday, very light and it might take some time for him to get back to his best. When does he make the squad, I would assume sometimes either vs Inter Milan or Dortmund next week.

Arjen Robben Forced To Abandon Bayern Munich Training Again
Quote:
For the second consecutive day, Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has been forced to prematurely end his training session. The Dutchman suffered a mild adductor strain yesterday but was back on the pitch this morning until he sustained an injury to his right pinky finger.
According to Spox, diagnostic imaging later today will reveal whether Robben's finger has been fractured. Either way, his participation in this weekend's match with Mainz is not at risk.

What is the situation with Robben? Is he going to play against Inter and what part will he play? Is Ribery going to play too? I wonder how fit both are for the super clash. Imo if both were fit Bayern would not have had too many problems going through. I watched Inter against Juventus and they were not good to say the least.

You guys think we can pass Inter?
They haven't impressed me this season but you never know, they've hit a pretty good stride in domestic football recently.

Boyos we have match threads for all the matches. Inter is doing better in Serie but look ok, if we base it off their Serie A form, we will completely dismantle their defense as it looks worse than ours the past few weeks. However like I say, league form means nothing in Champions League. They can easily get fired up and kick Bayern out by the end of the first leg. Give me a scoring tie away to Italy right now, and I'll take it. With our full team, I can't see any team in Europe getting a win in Allianz Arena. However if Inter win 1-0 or 2-0 at home, it's a different story and they are huge favorites to go through.
As for the shirt, it's not confirmed it's just a rumor. Though if it is true, I will certainly be buying it. Hoping Muller lets go off the #25 and either gets #13 or #9, I'm sick of half the team having ridiculously high numbers. Lahm (23) and Schweini (31) are the only two I don't mind but the rest are pretty ridiculous. Badstuber should take the #3 as well and either one of Gomez or Muller should take the #9 number for next season, Gustavo also have no idea why he got #30. Would like Robben to switch to #11, Kroos to #10 and Olic to #17.
EDIT: As to my point with league form meaning nothing. Stuttgart are probably going to get relegated and they dominated the group stage in Europa. Dortmund leading 1st place by 10+ points and crashed out in the group stage. Schalke was fighting relegation at one point and dominated their Champions League group with Benfica & Lyon who made the semi-finals last year. You can't really know what will happen.
