As for Carrick Im abit sad that its all gone wrong for him but if were honest out of the three named he looks the most likely to leave after Fergie bombed him out .
Carrick did well (or no worse than average) for the first 2/3s of the season...but for whatever reason, in the final (and most important) 1/3 of the season, he had a massive drop in form and it was costly for both him and for United.

I still think he's a good enough player and worthy enough to keep around, but if he needs to be sold to bring in extra money for more talented players, it'd be worth considering.

Berbatov is the guy I'd get rid of first though. He's quite clearly not the right option for United despite his talent and the cards just aren't aligned for him here. He misses sitters that a striker of his caliber should be burying and you just have to think its not meant to be. Move on for both parties.

As for Anderson...I think the rumored training bust-ups are the most serious thing facing him. He has the talent, but if he clashes with Fergie, well...there's only one way to go after that: out. Oddly enough for people saying he lacks the pace to deal with the English game, some of his best performances in the United shirt have come when he's played against Arsenal--where oftentimes, he ran the show.

Were preparing to sell Tosic according to reports in Germany. Cologne are confident they're at the front of the queue.

Cologne are desperate to keep hold of Manchester United loan star Zoran Tosic, according to reports in Germany.

Tosic has spent time out on loan at Bundesliga outfit Cologne since January but is set for a return to his parent club after the deal expired.

The German side said they were keen on keeping hold of the Serbian for the new campaign but could see their attempts scuppered as it emerged United were looking to off-load the 23-year-old.

The Red Devils are said to be eyeing up a £4million deal should they choose to sell the winger and are reportedly not interesting in arranging a new loan agreement for his services.

Fighting

Tosic's loan spell had no option to buy the player upon its expiry meaning the club have a battle on their hands to keep the former Serbia Under-21 international, who could move to another team.

The United man netted five times in 14 appearances for the RheinEnergie Stadion outfit and chairman Wolfgang Overath says he is doing his upmost to keep hold of the player ahead of the new campaign.

He told German newspaper Express: "We are fighting to keep the player.

"I think we are the first club in any line, should it be up to Zoran (Tosic). That was what he has told us in person.

"We are definitely trying our very best to get him going on at our club."

MANCHESTER United face a summer-long battle to hang on to the golden boy of England’s World Cup campaign as Barcelona *prepare a massive bid for Wayne Rooney.

Double Footballer of the Year Rooney, 24, was last night with England’s squad in the Austrian Alps unaware Barcelona are already making discreet moves to take him to La Liga in an £80million deal.

It is an unwelcome development for United, who will not countenance such distractions after two successive summers of speculation surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

He eventually left for Real Madrid at the end of last August .

England manager Fabio Capello will not receive the news warmly either, after insisting he wants none of his squad distracted by transfer negotiations while they are on national duty up until mid-July.

Barcelona’s interest in Rooney has uncanny similarities with Real’s pursuit of Ronaldo and football power on the pitch and politics off it are interwoven in their interest in him.

Europe’s most attractive side have been knocked off their perch by the Champions League semi-final defeat against Inter Milan and either Inter or Bayern Munich will take their European Crown on Saturday night in Madrid. Coach Pep Guardiola is keen to restore the side to the top immediately and will seek reinforcements.

And that suits both the current president Joan Laporta and the man who is clear favourite to take the presidency in next month’s elections, Sandro Rosell.

Barca have advanced plans to sign Valencia’s David Villa and Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas, but the real coup would be a successful move for Rooney. Spanish sources say that would appeal to Laporta and Rosell.

The Barcelona camp have activated agents to sound out the possibility of a Rooney move.

They know that he is happy at United but the chance for him to link up with Lionel Messi – expected to be a World Cup star for Argentina alongside England’s Rooney in South Africa – at the Nou Camp has massive appeal.

Rooney is still under contract until 2012. So £80m for a 24-year-old of his standing is realistic – had he only a year left on his agreement his market value would fall significantly.

And although United will publicly say they have no need to sell their biggest asset, last summer’s sale of Ronaldo to Spanish football was required to prevent the club posting a loss of more than £30m.

United have since restructured their massive debt with a bond issue, but another massive transfer offer may test the American Glazer family, who own the club.

And some informed observers in Spain consider the playing burden on Rooney since the departure of Ronaldo and the failure of Dimitar Berbatov might persuade him to seek a new challenge.

Sloppy journalism

Reasons for leaving:

Being the star of the team

Enough to make anyone leave, and not a mention of him continuously stating he wants to spend his career here, and how settled he is with both his and Coleens family within an hours drive from them

I swear these tabloid hacks just pick a player's name out of one hat, and a team name out of another, and abracadabra, Football Exclusive!!1!1

Glad Foster's gone. He wasn't good enough to be United's number 1, but he'll be a great signing for Birmingham. Should have been allowed to go in January, then he might have made the World Cup squad.

Tosic next? Fair enough, as Fergie just doesn't like him. They'll never recoup the price they paid, though.

Wonder what the fee for Tosic was - wasn't most of the £17m (?) supposed to be for Ljajic?

It was a combined £16m fee for the both of them. I think £10m was for Ljajic.

£5m/6m for a player who has been a back up player all his career and a useless GK when he is actually played. Great piece of business IMO.

As for Tosic if you have a club like Koln who are so desperate to snap him up, you could get a pretty decent fee back for him. Whether Koln can pay £6m remains to be seen.

I have a feeling this Tosic lad may be a success elsewhere he has the ability . Not to sure why Fergie just doesn't fancy giving him a go but I trust him all the same .

I guess when there is no real money about for transfers, something has to give if you want to scrape something together for a player.

Tosic is no real loss compared to others, mainly because he hasn't had a chance to slot in.

Zoran Tosic has admitted he would jump at the chance to join FC Cologne on a permanent basis this summer.

However, any deal looks unlikely for the time being with the Bundesliga side stalling over Manchester United's asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £5million.

The Serbia international, who is currently on World Cup duty, joined Cologne on loan from the Red Devils in January, scoring five goals in seven league games and helping the club steer clear of the relegation zone.

Having managed just 78 minutes of playing time in his 18 months at Old Trafford, Tosic is keen to find regular first-team football elsewhere with other clubs thought to be monitoring his situation after catching the eye in Germany.

"I am caught between two stools right now," he told Express newspaper.

"I have nothing left to do other than to remain patient. My agents have told me that FC Cologne would not have enough money to buy me out of my Manchester United contract.

"Honestly I would like to play on at Cologne. My family enjoys the city, this is a great deal. But even if the clubs would come to an agreement, the club would need to fulfil my demands as well.

"I am unaware how they would be able to pay me if they cannot pay Manchester United. I would want to remain at FC Cologne but it is a fact I need to get confronted with other options if you can get more money elsewhere.

"I will need to have my future sorted out. The faster the better, I would like to have it done before the World Cup."

According to sources in Russia, if Krasic leaves CSKA, they want Tosic as a replacement.

Well, few Russian stories claiming Tosic has gone to CSKA for £8m.

Great deal if true.

Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic set for to snub Cologne for £8m CSKA Moscow

Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic is to join CSKA Moscow in an £8m deal after snubbing a move to Cologne.

The 23-year-old Serb had been on loan at Cologne from United but will go to Russia after the World Cup.

Cologne director Michael Meier said: 'We made him an offer to stay.

'But the sums of money put before him make it hard for any German club to compete.'

Can't believe we are getting £8m for him. It's like when we got £5.5m for Richardson and £6m for Smith!

Zoran Tosic appears set to join CSKA Moscow after Cologne revealed they are unable to compete with the offer for the Manchester United winger.

The 22-year-old is currently on World Cup duty with the Serbia squad, but is likely to finalise a permanent move away from Old Trafford after the finals.

Tosic spent the second half of last season on loan at Cologne after struggling to make an impact at United and impressed during his time in the Bundesliga.

Cologne were keen on a permanent deal, and Tosic had also expressed a wish to rejoin the club, but CSKA have reportedly made an £8million bid.

CSKA are looking at Tosic as a replacement for his Serie A-bound compatriot Milos Krasic and Cologne director Michael Meier concedes his club are unable to match the Russians' offer.

"We made him an offer to stay," said Meier.

"But the sums of money put before him make it hard for any German club to compete."

Meier added in Express: "But, in the end, there are only winners in the deal.

"We stayed in the league thanks to Tosic, Zoran was able to show his form and is at the World Cup and Manchester United can achieve their asking price."
