Hannover 96 defender Steve Cherundolo has signed a fresh deal with the club that will keep him in their colors for the next three seasons.
The US right back, previously linked with interest from England and set to enter the final year of his current pact, opted to secure his AWD Arena future on Monday.
"The new contract goes until 2010," Hannover press officer Svenja Bergroth told YA. "Steve has a girlfriend here, so he is very happy to stay for a long time."
Cherundolo has worked 228 contests for the Reds since joining up out of the University of Portland in 1999.
The 96'ers will conclude their season on Saturday with a chance to earn an Intertoto Cup berth if they can defeat visiting Nürnberg.
