Would you ever want your team to lose?

Know a few of the Spurs fans were saying they'd rather lose on Sunday than give Arsenal the advantage, but what about your team...you're heading nowehere, you play your main rivals' rivals who if they beat you will win the title, do you still want your team to win?

in this particular case though spurs still have an outside chance of europe, so i guess that takes priority, but i have often wondered, its like in ice hockey, if you know you aint gonna win the stanley cup, then why not lose all your games, finish last in the league then get first draft pick! tough call.

Sunday we play Feyenoord. If Feyenoord end 2d(QCL) we will automatically play Europe cause we play Feyenoord in the cup final. And if love it if ajax would win nothing this season + no CL for them, so... But I think we will just go for it since we are 5th and can reach UEFA Cup via the competition too..

No, never. This discussion has come up a lot this season with us playing WBA on the last day - there was all kinds of speculation, ie. "would you mind losing and letting WBA have the 3 points if it meant Sunderland ended up relegated?" I always said no F****** way, and now it doesn't matter anyway.

Anyone who wants to see another team suffer rather than their own team do well is a crap fan IMO.

Never ever ever! Proved it '95 when we played Blackburn and Man U played West Ham last game of the season - I still wanted Liverpool to win even though we weren't playing for anything and it could have handed Man U the title.

Some years ago in Spain Seville lost a game (last of the season) because Betis should relegate if Seville would lose...
