Ok so we got 1 player there at least....but I dont quite get how it was Gerrard, and not Finnan or Carra, or even Agger.

Cant disagree with the front pair, or even utds 3 in midfield, or vidic/evra...

Maybe I cant see past my hatred for utd, but I wouldve had it as:

---------VDS
Finnan Carra Vidic Evra
Ronaldo Scholes Essien Giggs
-------Drogba Berb

What do you guys reckon?

The likes of finnan ,carragher ,carvalho ,essien all have great shouts to be in the team. Surprised/astounded not even a couple of them made the team.

yup the back four completely astonished me. vidic and maybe even evra, yeah, but the likes of essien, carragher, carvalho, cech and finnan have had better seasons than people in their respective positions

Gerrard shouldnt be anywhere near the team, neither should Rio Ferdinand. Vidic started well but hasnt been so great lately. Evra probably shouldnt be there either. Finnan perhaps should have made it in at RB.

@ All of Uniteds defence being in that team. They've had the 3rd best defence this season!

I agree on Scholes, Ronaldo and Giggs. Evra too.

Gerrard shouldn't have been in that team either.

Its the players that voted. I think they know exactly how good people are.

I think thats what some people, not just the fans in this thread forget.

The players themselves have made this selection, they have though these players are the best they have come up against this season.

Yeah, but the players are probably all biased towards United as well, just like the media, the FA, Sky and everyone else under the sun. You know it must be true, or how else could they win.

get off the high horse rorge, so what we shouldn't question the results of a competition if we don't agree with it? As far as I was aware this is a forum and generally people do tend to give their opinions like the 99% of mancs who believe that lpools 5th yes thats right 5th champions lge win was a fluke.

the players are fuking stupid. most of them admit they dont watch other teams play so id take the fans word over theirs. i think we should have our own team of the year.

Essien shouldve been in there over Gerrard.
Woodgate over Ferdinand.
and VDS hmmmm im sure Cech has had a better season even though hes been injured.

lets get some names for a 4-4-2 formation to see 24-7's team of the year.

I don't think Cech deserves to be there, been out for too long. Someone like Friedel I think deserves it, he is fantastic every year for Blackburn and god knows how many points he saves them.

Can't argue abt. it cos it's the players that vote. Personally I disagree, think there should be a better spread of players from otehr clubs.

But hey, those guys play against them week in week out. soo...

That team is a ******* joke, I dont care if players vote or not, none of them cAN BE ARSED giving any thought so they just go with the big names.

For example. That po faced **** Gary Neville has been out for months in total. Now i dont care what anyone says, but Steve Finnan has been the best RB in this country for the last 2 years.....a fact backed up by every Opta and fantasy football point scoring system.

So u tell me how the **** he got in at right back. Micah Richards should be ahead of him aswell.

HOw the **** is Ferdinand ahead of Carra, considering Carra has been the best CB in Europe since the turn of the year???? Its ******* astounding.

And VDS in goal, erm, NO. David James anyone????? Ben Foster anyone????? Pepe Reina anyone?????

Probably find the sports writer's do a more realistic team.

I take it back abt. the player's know best, they are all thick after all.

I agree with smg's team except Carvalho there instead of Carragher. Finna definately deserves to be there at RB, and Essien instead of Gerrard in CM. James should probs be there over VDS too. Evra, Vidic, Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo all definately deserve to be there.

I would like to see all players choices.

Suppose everybody has thir fave's & their pal's at other clubs. Im sure pool players would maybe have picked rooney or ronaldo, but no ther manc's. lol..
