Polish forwarders

I think that it can be very interesting topic. We have big problems with forwarders in our country. We have a lot of attackers who play in foreign countries, however we can't find the partner of Maciej Zurawski who is the best player in our team (in World Championship he dissapointed). So who can be the second forwarder?
Tomasz Frankowski?
Lukasz Sosin?
Andrzej Niedzielan?
Marek Saganowski?
Grzegorz Rasiak?
Ireneusz Jelen?
Grzegorz Piechna?
Euzebiusz Smolarek?
Pawel Brozek?
Dawid Janczyk?
or other player?

Zurawski is already 30.....I don't know if we can count on him for the Euro 2008 to be honest with you (if we make it that is).....I think Smolarek will end playing as a LWM since we are short at the position, and he is quite versitile. Saganowski is 28-29 so he is getting older also, but I think Leo will test him a lot more than Janas did. I'm really high on Andrzej Niedzielan ( 26-27 years old), had a very good season in Holland after a few questionable years. And as usual my man Dawid Janczyk will not disappoint, he is to much of a fighter to disappoint. What happened vs. Austria is Globisz's fault for the bull**** 4-5-1 a la Janas......haven't Polish coaches learned their lesson. Ireneusz Jelen will be getting better and better. Rasiak is such a stiff, he will be useless. Piechna may be useful as of this moment, but he to is getting old. Brozek I think is the most natural striker out of all of these players, he just needs to clear his head and pull himself together, he is still only 22-23. The problem isn't that these players don't have talent, the problem is that we can't find a coach, who would create the proper atmosphere, the right combination of players on the pitch, etc......lets hope Leo will change that and get us to Euro 2008.

Hard to pick the second one. I would go with Smolarek I think. Or Brozek if he improves his accuracy.

I think Smolarek should play in the right wing. Why? Because we have a lot of problems to find right midifelder. The future shows who will be in form, I hope that Jelen will play in first squad of Auxerre but... most of our players had (or have) problems to play in "first eleven".
Give chance to Andrzej Niedzielan. He was one of the most talented forwarders in Poland, unfortunately he was injured many time and this slowed his career. But if he is not injured he played well. He scored 12 times last season in Eredivisie - one of the best leagues in the world. It is big achievement so why we can't count on him? In the past he played for the Polish National Team and he played very good (I still remember his match against Hungary in the qualification to European Championships 2004 - he scored twice and he was the best, no doubt).
What about other forwarders... We should give a chance for Marek Saganowski - in spite of fact that I don't like him but he scored 12 times last season in Portugal, so it's the big achievement. Forget about Lukasz Sosin - playing in Cyprus is something different than playing for example against Portugal.
We can't forget about our talents - Brozek, Janczyk or... Kazmierowski from Groclin. I think that there must be minimum one younf forwarder in our team.
I still believe in Rasiak - last season wasn't good by him but... I think he has huge potencial. Rasiak is the scapegoat of Poland - everybody (except me and a few other people) are laughing because they think he isn't good player. But he is!!! I have seen all his goals when he was playing for Derby County - I was really suprised. He showed outstanding techinque (Poles think that he Rasiak is the "wood") and effectivity. What do U think. do you support Rasiak or do you belong to people who still think that Rasiak is only the wood?

Rasiak is such a stiff. I saw a few matches of Tottenham from last season, a couple of days ago. Oh my God, the guy just stands their like a mummy doesn't do anything.

Last season didn't belong to Rasiak. He can't cope in Tottenham London. In spite of this I think he is good player. Look at this films

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...03108101048693 - it's my favourite goal by Rasiak
And this terrible performance against England... - that's why everybody think that he isn't good player:

Grzegorz Piechna is the next candidate to be a forwarder in Polsh National Team. He moved to Torpedo Moscow from Korona Kolporter Korona Kielce this summer. He played in 3 matches and he scored once in the match against Rubin Kazan.

pretty nice Piechna

FC Liverpool and Tottenham London are interested in polish forwarder - Dawid Janczyk from Legia. He had hat-trick in match against Belgium in the European Championships U-19 and his price gets high from 800 thousands euro to 1,2 mln euro 400 thousands euro for 3 goals - very impressive

I know that money matters. But if Legia lets him go then who will they play in the front line?
Wlodarczyk? For the Champions League? come on

Maciej Zurawski scored twice and he had assist in todays match against Kilmarnock. It was great match by Magic - he was the best player of the match (no doubt!). Kenny Miller - second forwarder in Celtic Glasgow - played very good, he had great assist in Zurawski's goal. It seems that Zuraw and Miller understand themselves. Very good
Magic displayed great center from the right side of pitch, that's why Jiri Jarosik had no problems with score. It was really good match by Magic.
Boruc also performed in this match but he didn't have so much work. He can't defend Naismith's goal.

Celtic Glasgow - Kilmarnock 4:1
(Zurawski, Jarosik, Nakamura, Zurawski - Naismith)

Janczyk should not make the same mistake that Mila did. He should play and develop in a very good Legia team, for at least the next 2 years.

Rasiak scored for Southampton. It was a penalty but still a goal. And because they let him take penalties it means that he is a respected player in the club. Well, Mr Leo - is it time for Woodman again?

I think so. All National Teams should have in team some tall guy who is good in headers. Rasiak should get chance.

Marek Saganowski to AaB Aalborg

Danish Champions AaB Aalborg have been in a hurrry reinforcing their team by signing a forward before the end of the August 7 CL deadline, but they managed to get Polish international Marek Saganowski just in time, so they can use him in the third qualifying round of the CL against Kaunas from Lithuania. So far he is signed on a loan deal from Southampton for the rest of the year. Saganowski is getting shirt number 10 and AaB expect to get him ready for their next Superliga match this weekend.

no he isn't you are stupid. WHen it comes to potential Janczyk (still very young - 19??) is up there. He was Polands best player in the U-21's WC qualifiers and in the actual competition. Jelen is good and so is Zahorski. All who have a greater potential than Zurawski... Hell even Matusiak I'd rate better than Zurawski.Zurawski WAS our best but no longer is. He's lost his touch and confidence in himself and sh!ts himself when playing tough opposition. All the mon has is speed which is useless obviously without all the other necessary football skills.

Lukasz Piszczek Superstar

We do not have quality forwards since... a long time. I think our hope are Janczyk (give him a chance for christ sake!) and Piszczek. It's a big mistake that he is not included in the list presented at the start of the topic.
The time of Zurawski in the NT is near it's end, let us look at his scoring in the last years of international service - pa-the-thic - with all my respect towards him. The journalists and commentators are saying he's helping the team even tough he is not scoring much etc blah blah blah. The truth is we do not have a replacement. Or do we? It is time to let in PISZCZEK and JANCZYK, possibly some other young guns, but those two are ma favs!

They should've been involved in our squad at E'08 me thinks. Probably it would not help us at all, but if we want to develop these talents, the time is now.
