Polish League - Ekstraklasa

Poland, do you know any footballers from this country ???
I think that Poland will be a suprice on the Germany 2006, we have few good players- Ebi Smolarek,Radoslaw Majdan, Batata, Maciej Zurawski and my favourite Toasz Frankowski- You should remember that name - he is a very good and valuable forward. Sorry, but my english is very poor, but I learn very intensive...Elo

Poland will do well at the World Cup, I think we can upset the Germans.

The odds are obvious, but we might reach 1st round I'd be surprised if we go any further.

We might finish first in our group, Germany is rather weak. However after that, if all goes as planed we will have to play either England or Sweden. That won't be pretty.

True but we talk here about NT players and I don`t think Batata and Radek Majdan will ever be NT players (again in Radek`s case)

Yes, it is true, but I think, that Batata is talented player, but he is very often injured. Majdan is not a joke, in my opinion is the best polish goalkeeper, (beyond Tomasz Kuszczak- he is younger, and he plays in better club, than Majdan.)

The only players that can worry me are Klose and Ballack.
Nie rozpaczalbym bardzo za nimi, gdyby okazalo sie, ze na czas Mistrzostw ktorys dostanie kontuzje. Albo lepiej obaj

The season resumed. Some of the games postponed due to snow and low temperatures.

I watched Legia vs Belchatow yesterday (only the first half) and must say that I really liked those Brazilians Legia brought in. If they play that more then Legia should be real contenders for Wisla to win the crown.

Legia won 1-0 (if it wasn`t for Janczyk`s inacurracy it would have been much more)
-------

Surprise in Krakow where Cracowia lost to Gornik Zabrze 1-2

----------

Wisla Krakow won 2-1 over Groclin Grodzisk (more in Wsla 2006 thread)

-------

Amica thrashed Odra 4-0

Another good game from Legia . After a hiccup in the Polish cup where they lost to Korona , tonight they thrash Groclin away - 4-0. With two goals from Janczyk, one from Burkhardt and one from the brazilian new face Gureiro.

--------------------------

Pogon szczecin experiment doesn`t prove to be working in cold circumstances. team based on Brazilians lozt to Amica 0-3

----------------- more games incl. Krakow derby tomorrow.
There are also games postponed due to frozen pitch.

still some ground haven`t been prepared for the game and again we have some games put off. IMO it is a bit of a shame because we all know what the weather is like and it seems that 2 weeks wasn`t enbough to make something about pitches.

anyway

Legia thrash Cracovia 5-0. Again Legia plaed very, very well. They look as strong contenders for the title because Wisla lost something . Lost the spark while Legia are both effective and nice to watch.

----------

Arka Gdynia beat Bot Belchatow 2-0 - this is a fight to stay clear of relegation zone

--------------

Amica Wronki vs Polonia Warsaw 3-0

Lokks like Pogon Szczecin studded with Brazilians are nothing in Polish league. They lost again . This time to on-fire Legia Warsaw. 0-2.

Lokks like players with 10 caps for Brazil are a bit lost here or they just want to get money for nothing?

Yeah even though Legia didn't play that well, hey Pyrtas can you change the name of this thread, because the spelling is bad. BTW I am hoping to get some guys from pilkanozna.pl forum to join here. I really want our own Polish section on here!

I saw only the highlights on Canal plus but heard that was quite a boring game. Pogon barely made a good shot on target and Legia didn`t shine either. Apparently that Brazilian in Legia - Edson did well again. Looks like a good move from Wdowczyk.

Concidering Polish section - yes, go on and bring some more polish fans. We used to have a polish section here but it didn`t work well. There were only me and Coobek and some other guy for a while so we scrapped the idea. But if there are more of us then why not?

Yes the game was pretty boring not much from both sides, but nice two assists from Edson. Good move to bring him and Roger into the team. Also nice to see Szalachowski like I mentioned in the other thread. Yes I am trying to bring in more Poles, looks like right now there are only three of us.

Looks like Kuzba is done for the season what a waste of money to bring him to Wisla.

Interesting that Kuzba (who is often outside the match 16) and Dawidowski who is back from almost 2-year long injury have been almost the best paid players in the league.
They must have fantastic managers while Wisla lost a bit of brain signing them at such conditions....

anyway - todays games.:

Wisla still 1 point behind Legia after 2-0 over Polonia

Amica Wronki 2 - 0 Wisla Plock

Arka Gdynia 0 - 0 Groclin Grodzisk

Belchatow 2 - 0 Cracovia Krakow

Gornik Zabrze 0 - 3 Lech Poznan

Leczna 0 - 0 Odra Wodzislaw

Korona Kielce 1 - 1 Zaglebie Lubin - I watched the first half on Canal plus and apart from the fact that it was a pretty interesting game (not the top one but reasonable) the most important thing was that it took place on the new Kolporter stadium. 12 000 of punters and it must have good acustics because I felt as if they played on some huge ground. Bravo for Kolporter for developing such a nice stadium.

Yes its sad that Dawidowski, Kuzba, Kryszalowicz are highest paid in the league. Only Cantoro who is also up there deserves this type of money. Beautiful stadium developed by Korona. The city of Kielce will surely benefit from this, it will be a better attraction to foreign football fans, and the team will feel much more comfortable playing in such an arena.

Make up games played this Tuesday....nothing special...Not good to see Piechna-Gajtkowski duet struggling on new stadium for Korona Kielce. Wisla Plock with a very good game against Lech. Maybe we can see Rachwal find himself this season, I believe he can still be above average for our NT, good to see Jelen find the net.

Bramki: Andrzej Kubica (67 min.) - Radosław Wróblewski (38 min.).
Żółte kartki: Veljko Nikitović - Piotr Jawny, Łukasz Kowalski, Grzegorz Niciński, Radosław Wróblewski.
Sędzia Hubert Siejewicz (Białystok). Widzów 4 500.

Kolporter Korona Kielce - Pogoń Szczecin 0:1 (0:0)
Bramka: Edi Andradina (66 min.).
Żółte kartki: Marcin Drzymont - Tavares, Grzegorz Matlak, Boris Pesković, Julcimar.
Sędzia: Artur Szydłowski (Kraków). Widzów 8 000.

Wisła Płock - Lech Poznań 5:1 (2:0)
Bramki: Vahan Gevorgyan (23 min.), Joseph Obajdin (25 i 76 min.), Ireneusz Jeleń (49 min.), Patryk Rachwał (70 min. - karny) - Maciej Scherfchen (90+2 min.).

somehow those bloody brazilians managed to come over their inability and score against Kolporter. Pity as I really wish Kolporter well. They showed the path for polish clubs. Path that should be taken - how to built a reasonably good team with a nice stadium.

I think Arka Gdynia is next with new stadium. Actually it is to be a general renovation but when I had a look at the plans it looked pretty nice. About 14 K seats, roofed. Should be another nice ground.
