Team News:

I think we will pretty much lose, 2-0 or 3-0. Especially if we play like today, I don't see how Bayern can win. Especially if Scheisse score first, it will be practically impossible to score on their good defense unless a piece of magic/luck. The good thing is that Demichellis should be able to play this match hopefully from the beginning, we will need him. Erb was utterly terrible, Haas was bad as well. They will be pressured far more than they were vs Koln.

Tymoschuk then should play as a DM with Ottl most likely and Pranjic I would assume as a LW.

Ughhh. I'd prefer if Mujic didn't play this match, he was somehow worse than Haas & Erb who were blatantly bad. Starting Tymo up front might mean that Pranjic plays LW and no more Mujic.

Anyways, I think we will lose.. probably something boring like 1-0 or 2-0 unless Schalke surprise us all and try to play attacking football. They might win this and we get our revenge a week later and beat them in the SuperCup. I would very pleasantly surprised if we won, and it would/should be humiliating if Schalke lost against such a weak C team.

Meh, I expected Schalke to win before this match and it looks likely even though Bayern was the better team. The marking for both goals conceded was bad, Contento especially on the 2nd was horribly at fault. Some solid passes here and there but if Schalke score one mroe it's game over. I hope we can put one in and take it to penalties and win it there (even though Neuer > Sattelmeier in penalties)

The thing that bothers me about this game was that I thought in the field we would get outplayed before the match, which isn't happening... We've actually been the better team, yet the defense along with the idiot goalkeeper have given them easy goals.

Talking about Scheisse... what was really scheisse was the arrogance of Nerlinger replying to questin in interview if they wouldnt have wanted to sign Raul with: "we would 10 years ago". what acted arrogance by a guy who was average player and wants to act big since he is bayern manager now. You dont say this about a player like Raul, not in this way. This is arrogant and disrespectful. uli hoeness would have said it different, since he has some class in him, but Nerlinger seems to have to hide his insecurenes with such bull****. Nerlinger needs to rethink his ways, else he will become a complete jerk... yes, I know that Bayern might not be able to use Raul in their team now, but thats not the point. Its about showing respect to somebody who deserves it, and not trying to redicule opponents due to the wish to appear strong.

Is that what he said, I changed it at half-time when I saw his face because I'm not a fan of Nerlinger.

Guy seems to me too weak minded to be a real heir to Hoeness, the guy looks soft. What he said is absolutely arrogant (typical Bayern mentality) but more important very rude. The guy is a legend, he needs to be shown respect imo.

Honestly, I see him as a total failure so far other than the fact that he encourages youngsters from our youth team. He had his chance this summer with Coentrao to make a real deal with Benfica but they noticed what a punk ass he is and stuck to their 30m release clause idea. He also wants Bayern to give a chance to Contento, Badstuber & Breno all in one season to be our potential line-up. In case none of them work out, we have Braafheid, Demichellis & Buyten as the potential in-line type of players. Brilliant idea to give our entire backline a chance all in one season without actually trying to be realistic. He's a tool imo, a yes man but also one that doesn't know much about the job he's been given.. or at least how to do it well from what I've seen so far.

I don't like Schalke because they tend to be the team that is successful in the Bundesliga of the top 6 with probably some of the worst football displayed in the league. Hamburg as well are a team that don't necessarily display pure attacking football, however they are a team that does play football. Schalke will play a beat em up tactic as in foul every 2 minutes to disrupt the opponent's flow of the game and then hope one of the counters goes in vs successful teams. They have Magath, who I don't like. Also I want Neuer to come but Magath would rather they go bankrupt than give him to us for the sour grapes he's still tasting after getting fired. The guy has not cared for any club he's been with, which is why he is the German nomad, a new club every 2 years.

This season Magath might be trying to change the team though for this season. While totally unsuccessful, Schalke tried to play some solid one touch football at times today, rumors that they might play with only 1 defensive midfielder as well.

But Nerlinger was a hell of a defender when he played at Bayern. I think you all underastimate him. I mean, with no doubt he looks like a real möther****er but I guess only time can tell...
BTW I don´t believe it´s all his idea changing the whole defence. It´s about dealing with what you have. I mean despite Subotic there is temporaly not one real good defender on the market. Who should Bayern buy? And van Buyten and Demichelis, they are getting old

Well, Magath is somewhat strange coach. He does things that are considered more out of date, but he is successful with what he does. I dont necessarily love Magath, but you have to give him credit that he knows what he is doing. I dont know if his rebuilding of the team, which he said will take place to build a team around Raul now, will be successful, but I think he wants to play different football than what we saw last year. Magath always said that the team is not good enough to play good football, so its also showing his quality as a coach to still make the team finish 2nd. He wants to sign another playmaker, to assist especially Raul, and another good striker so that defenses can not only focus on Raul. Edu looks alright as a player, but the other guys Schalke have are not good enough (yet).

And yes, Magath said to plan to play a 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield. Kluge or Jones to be the pure dm. Rakitic and Farfan probably on the sides and the new playmaker as om
