Looks like Alessio Tacchinardi won't move.
 

Barcelona president Joan Laporta remains fearful that the club will be unable to push through a deal for Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi.

The Italy international has emerged as Barca's top target to fill the void created by injuries in the defensive midfield position.

Tacchinardi has featured sporadically for Juventus this season and that had prompted Barca optimism that they could sign the 29-year-old on loan for the second half of the campaign.

But Barca supremo Laporta concedes that progress in the deal is proving frustrating as Juve coach Fabio Capello seems reluctant to offload Tacchinardi.

"We hope to sign Tacchinardi in January, yes, because we need a similar player with his characteristics," Laporta told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"But I fear it is difficult because they have told me that Fabio Capello doesn't want to allow him to leave."

If Laporta misses out on Tacchinardi, the midfielder will join a list of names that the Barca chief has failed to tempt to La Liga from Serie A.

He added: "Last summer we were close to signing David Trezeguet but we didn't find an economical agreement.

"The year before we had hoped to sign Adriano before he went back to Inter [from Parma]. Subsequent events have given us the reason for that because Adriano is the best player there is in Italy, the only one for whom I'd do something foolish."



I'm sure we will get the players required to strengthen the team in the transfer window.

I think they realized that they wont need him to win La Liga (as they've got already many points of advantage) and they wont be able to use him in CL and so they'are watching for someone who can be more usefull for this season

I would prefer a player that has the option to play in the CL as well.

There are plenty of good CM players available, Barca really need some back-up's
