Bajevic returns as Olympiakos coach!!!!
Dusan Bajevic has returned to Olympiakos CFP after 5 years, the club announced yesterday. From uefa.com:
![]() "Bajevic back at Olympiacos Tuesday, 01 June 2004 Olympiacos CFP announced this evening that coach Dusan Bajevic will return to the Greek club on a three-year contract. Three year-contract The official announcement read: "Olympiacos are announcing their cooperation for the next three years with coach Dusan Bajevic. Before making this decision, the club took into consideration the former successful partnership of the two parties, which laid the foundations for Olympiacos' magnificent run of seven consecutive league titles. The aim of this decision is to build a strong squad of high quality for future success." Drought ended Bajevic previously took over as Olympiacos coach in summer 1996, leaving AEK Athens FC. His appointment proved the springboard for a sustained spell of success for the Athens club who, without a league title since 1987, emerged triumphant in 1997, 1998 and 1999. In 1998/99 the club claimed a domestic double and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they were edged out by Juventus FC. Cup triumph Having been unexpectedly dismissed in November 1999, Bajevic went on to coach FC PAOK between 2000 and 2002, winning the Greek Cup final against Olympiacos in May 2001. He returned to AEK in June 2002 but the fans were unwilling to forgive his earlier defection to Olympiacos and he decided to leave the club again in January of this year. Olympiacos, meanwhile, had their seven-year run of league titles ended by Panathinaikos FC in 2003/04." This is great news for all Olympiakos fans. Bajevic is the man! :clap :clap Now back to winning those championships from next year. :USA_Blue |

prodoti malaka bajevic!!!!
although he is a great coach, and i loved him in aek, too bad he had to go, he overdid it by returning to olympiakos....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Knob |
I think Bajevic deserves alot more respect from AEK fans, just of what he has done for their team (playing and coaching). But you must not forget in terms of titles he is one of the most winning coaches in Europe, and he is a professional, so he can choose to join any team he wants. I just don't get it really, why AEK fans hate the man most responsible for their modern day record just because he went to Olympiakos to coac?

Good luck to him.
True. AEK owes him a lot as a player and manager. We could maybe name a stand in the new ground to him... (and I am not kidding) And then he can become the only manager who cannot sit on the AEK bench with a stand on his name! :clap After what he did 8 years back he never had a place in AEK despte all the offer which I both recognise and remember with good memories. That Bajevic is dead for AEK fans. Good luck to him because I honestly believe he is one of the best managers ever to work in Greece. |
