View Full Version : Who sells the best pies?

Which football ground sells the nicest pie? Obviously not Old Trafford as they only sell prawn sandwiches (ok poor joke I know) but there are few decent ones around. City's are nice as are Everton's but the nicest have to be the Balti pies at Villa Park. Then again enough of them in Birmingham to get the right recipe. :nono

They did nice fish and chips at Vitesse Arnhem. You tried it Anno? Weird thing is you can't pay over the counter, you need to buy a card from a machine. How are you supposed to rob the food? :P

this is supposed to be a thread on meat pies, not a side swipe at man u's prawn sandwich brigade, you sound like a jealous scouser who can't afford Prawn Sandwiches, and has to slum it at Anfield eating suspect Meat pies, for the record I believe Rochdale sell the best Meat pies, or so am told

I was never one for pies but the best fish and chips can be purchased from the surrounding purveyors at Whitby Town FC....no contest.

didn`t have much to compare but i know that Chelsea pies are sh#t (3 quid!!!). Fulham so-so. You can get tasty hot dogs at Craven Cottage - small though.
They don`t like pies at the Den as they lob them pretty often....
very good are zapiekankas at Lezno pitch. (stick bread with mashrooms and onion and cheese). Highly recommended.

Huddersfield have nice pies and a s*** team. Always a cracking combination when you travel to the McAlpine....
You're gauranteed a win and a nice pie to boot!!! :clap
Can't beat the Rovers hotdogs though...yummy :P

Unsurprisingly, Worthing and Bognor both do very nice fish and chips. Don't eat any burgers at Molesey though (not that anyone in their right mind would ever go there anyway!). I've heard bad things about Millwall's food, and Palace's food is a bit suspect. I would have tried the grub at the Valley if they served any in the North Stand. Tranmere's is quite nice and Gillingham's.

i think we have deviated from the opening topic, why dont you just get togethr and get drunk, it will make you best of friends. lets not make bitter rivalry get between us, we dont have to conform to the comunity-expected hatred that we have seen in this thread

I haven`t got so much experience with english stadiums. Pies I had on the games were without any signs of the makers (maybe I just didn`t pay attention to it). Still remember paper bags with club`s logo though.

That's one of two things...
1) They could detect you were a scouser
2) The football was so bad, they wanted to try and make you ill so you would have halusinations and think the football was top class!!!

Tranmere's food was alright on the three occasions I've been. However, that might depend on where you sit, as I have always sat in the Main Stand, due to it being within my budget
It depends what part of Selhurst Park you are in to determine what kind of food you get. The Arthur Wait Stand Food is OK, as was just pointed out, but the food in the Holmesdale ot Whitehorse Family Stand isn't always so nice.
I've heard that at Millwall they hand out all the burgers that haven't been bought, for free at the end of the game. Don't know how much truth there is in that though.
Bromley's food is ok, apart from the burgers.

Yeah but the downer is that you will probably sit on a wooden seat and have a bad view, due to the general rubbishness of that stand. Anyone who has ever sat in the Arthur Waite in the away fans will tell you that. I've sat in the away and it's not very comfortable. Still, I guess you'll be standing up the whole game anyway.

Yeah I've been there a few times before. If you have a bad view you just move into somebody else's seat who has a better view. ;)
