So what do you think?
Shearer - for his new found form?
Solano - again for his form this year?
Hughes - an insparation down the right?
Given - Some class performances?
Bellamy - An unexpected pleasure?
O Brien - Solid?
Robert - Giving us balance?
For me I think its prob Bellamy. Not since Ferdy / Shearer have we had such a good partnership up front. I did like Shearer / Ferg, but it hardly happened!! Bellamy is giving us excellent penetration. But what do you think?

So what do you think?
Given, constantly fantastic. Has not had a bad game since Chelsea at the start of the season. Simply by far his best season at the club and has helped us strengthen up the defense by becomming a better keeper.

Bellamy, just think he has added another dimension to our game :)
Although given has been fanstastic too :)

Oh come on! This Poll was going to be very very one sided, no matter who was picked! Ha ha.
If Bellamy doesn't get Young Player Of The Year, I'll wear a Sunderland Shirt for a Day! :)

I'm more than happy for him to get young player of the year just not player of the year as I think he could have scored more whereas Shay has been top class throughout the season. Anyway just vote will ya :)

How many goals in total have Shearer and Bellamy got as partners? Cos we should compare with Shearer and Sir Les, and see how far they have to get.... It was about 50, wasn't it? Shearer and Bellamy are on 34 I think, and Sir Les and Shearer got.... :???

Well, I could only find League only for now, Magic Al and Sor Les, got 41..
This season, Captain Fantastic and Basha Bella are on 25 between them:
Therefore, 16 to go between them in another 12 matches.... Well, possible, but unlikely, if they do it, we've probably won the league! :cool
Could someone dig up the total goals tally in all comps, for 96/97 for Shearer and Ferdy, so we can compare to Basha and Biffa this season's current tally of 34.... Next season will probably see the records smashed, with Shearer and partner both fit, (touching wood vigourously, no sexual innuendo intended) for a season with the huge number of additional fixtures due to CL football, unless we are in the Intertoto (snigger) :laugh
Here's hoping! :eek

Bella's for sure, but also not forgetting Shay Given as he has really saved our bacon on a couple of occasions, and Big Al for his steady supply of MAGIC. :)

i voted Robert
every castle game i have seen he has played really well........and no offence but that type of class is well needed at the toon
Bellamy and Sheararse wouldnt have half as many goals if it wasnt for Robert and Solano providing them so well

Bet you all wish you could change your mind to Shay Given after yesterdays performance against the Scum. Easily the best player in the league probably the best shot stopper in the world and at still such a young age we have this sort of quality for a while to come yet. And also we have a great replacement in Harper when Given gets injured or suspended.
