Jewellery stolen from Ronaldo's home

MANCHESTER United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo had about £30,000 of jewellery stolen from his home by burglars, it emerged on Wednesday.

The soccer star's home in Woodford, Cheshire, was burgled while he was away playing matches for the Premiership team and Portugal.

The 20-year-old winger discovered the theft when he returned home last week.

A statement by Greater Manchester Police said they were informed of the raid but the victim had decided not to make a formal complaint.

A GMP spokeswoman said the matter was closed and the investigation had ended.
