FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Defending champion Brazil is likely to be seeded top of Group F and play its 2006 World Cup first round games in Berlin, Munich and Dortmund.
An official bulletin on the Dec. 9 draw in Leipzig says one option would be to have Brazil head Group F, ensuring the defending champion would play at the three biggest World Cup stadiums.
Six teams in addition to Brazil and host Germany will be seeded so they avoid each other in the first round of group games. Germany is expected to be seeded top of Group A and also would play its games in Munich, Dortmund and Berlin.
The decision on seeded teams will be made on Dec. 6 in Leipzig.
If Germany and Brazil win their groups, they would not meet until the final on July 9 in Berli

That would be great. I would like us to avoid having to face Brazil early on. Now let's hope that somehow England, Argentina, Holland, France, Italy and Portugal get eliminated in the first or second rounds.

I like them and hate them. I like them coz they are great and could put 3 NT teams on the field and all 3 could be competitive. I hate them coz if we play them in the WC, that would be the end of our WC road.

I have no reason not to like brazil. they are easily the most talented team full of great players, they play attractive football all the time. so, i cant see any reason why would i hate em.
on the other hand, I DUN want them to reach the final or even semi next year. PLS BRAZIL, give other teams a chance for success.
I would like to c us vs Argentina in the final

I love Brazil, would love them to finish runners-up behind England though! :)
Anybody else think that this is unfair to predetermine where Brazil play their games before the draw is done? Surely they should take pot luck with their locations, like all other countries have to (except Germany as hosts!).

i dun think its unfair. not at all. esp as we'll have more chance of avoiding em b4 final. i say let's brazil n england play each other early like 2nd round for eg.

I think it is typcail to try and not have the WC Holders meet the hosts before the final.

in term of attractive skills and individual flair, Brazil is on top of my list.. and Portugal, on a few occassions..
Germany is my favorite because they compensate what they lack in individual skills with sheer determination, disciplined teamwork and some gritty never-say-die attitude.. at least that were what the OLD German teams did..
Germany have a poor record against Brazil though..
