Real Socidedad keeper Sander Westerveld has blasted Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier in the wake of Jerzy Dudek's comical error against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Dutchman, who is a key part of Sociedad's fantastic season in La Liga, was flogged by Houllier at the start of last season.
Westerveld told the BBC: "I feel really sorry for Dudek, he's having a hard time but he did really well last season.
"He made one mistake against Middlesbrough and he was under a lot of pressure, maybe because of the coach, and now he has started making mistakes every week.
"Houllier doesn't give him the confidence.
"As a coach you have to say 'you are number one' - it's different from saying 'watch out, make another mistake and we have to change you'."
