Nottingham Forest may have weaseled its way out of paying a MLS a performance bonus for Stern John.
John, was loaned to Forest three years ago, with one of the provisions being the English First Division club would pay MLS a 200,000 bonus should John score 15 goals in a season.
Check for more details on the story on the forum MLS

Nottingham Forest is getting away twice, once with the injury to Olsen and know the last minute trade of Stern, to avoid paying the MLS.

frank, the thing is with forest is that they cannot afford to pay £250,000 for a goal, when the player will be leavingat then end of the season for nothing. WE sold him to reduce our wage bill. it might be weaseling, but we had to do it, to kep the club in business

Nottingham Forest 200,000 dollars is a lot of money when a major league soccer team only has a cap of 1million 700thousand dollars per team.
200,000 thousand dollars you could sign 4 players for 50.000 dollars a season.
The major soccer league as a cap of 1.7m. No team pass's that. Once the teams start to make more money the cap goes up. The highest a top player gets is 250.000 dollars.

Major league soccer you only allowed to sign three foreigner players. If you have a Visa or Green Card you are consider a resident and not count as a foreigner.

If you new anything about Forests situation then you wouldn't be saying this. MLS could do with £250,000! I think that Forest need it a bit more. And if you've got a player who is going to leave you at the end of the season and theres no need for him to stay what do you do? Get money for him.
On the matter of Ben Olsen, do you think we went out and deliberatly broke his ankle? I was at the game where he got injured and it was right in front of me. Did you see it? He wanted to come to us and we would have loved to have him, but we're not gonna pay £2million for someone who can't play because of injury.
Also whats all the talk of loan deals? How was it a loan when he is no longer under contract with you?

First of all, what is soccer?
Besides, it's not like we refused to pay the MLS. He didn't score 15 goals for us so we don't have to pay. Simple.

very good point alex and rob. the thing is we work a totally different system to the US so we dont have give them money. if they need moeny cry to the government, not a bankrupy club. do you want to see a club go out of busniess over one greedy player? if you do then thats that shocking

bush to bomb the city ground?
bush to bomb the city ground?
If he can find it. He'd probably napalm Sherwood before realising that Nottingham Forest is a football club and not an actual Forest.

Well who really cares?
We got Stern John for next to nothing and he looks a good player.
His passing and vision is excellent, he creates goals and I hope he scores them too!
THANK YOU FOREST
