Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has warned Hamburg's Bundesliga rivals to expect their unbeaten run to continue for some time.
The former Ajax ace has been an instant success since his move from Holland in the summer, netting eight goals in all competitions so far this season, as Hamburg have notched up 19 games undefeated since he joined.
"The team is getting better and our rivals have every reason to be afraid of us," said van der Vaart.
"I was a big fish for Hamburg and the expectations were very high, but I did stand all the pressure and that makes me proud," van der Vaart explained. Hamburg lie second in Die Bundesliga after six wins and two draws, but could move top next week if leaders Bayern Munich fail to beat in-form Schalke.

They are able to challenge Bayern, but only if they come out of a bad phase pretty good and play as strong as they do now. Before that I dont think Hamburg has anything on Bayern. Bayern plays not even average since a good BL start but is still infront of them despite Hamburg playing the best football since some years.
