Hertha Berlin general manager Dieter Hoeness has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to move to a similar post at Bayern Munich.
Speaking in an interview with 'Bundesliga Magazin', the former German international striker said that his brother Uli had wanted him to move to Munich should the latter become president of the German champions in the future.
''If I had gone to Munich I would only have been able to try and keep the success going,'' revealed Hoeness.
''I would rather stay here in Berlin and build on the progress we have made so far.''
Brother Uli looks likely to follow Franz Beckenbauer as president of Bayern Munich should Beckenbauer become Uefa president, but the five-year extension at Berlin, signed in August, now prevents Dieter from moving to Bavaria. ''I will not work for any other club when I have completed my contract here,'' he added
