In our Under 21, i realize there are quite a few German players who have very good potential, but among these players who is the best(we have to forget about Hanke, Schulz and Volz this time)?

Hunt- Very skillful, creative and quick. The youngest player currently in the under 21 squad(18 years old) and he is very versatile as well. He can manage to play as a AM, LM, CF, ST. I see a bright future ahead of him and glad he chooses to play for Germany ,not UK. BTW, England didn't even bother to call him to their U19, that is rather amusing.

KieBling- the most skillful player in U21 perhaps, along with Hunt and Trochowski. Despite his 6'5" height, he is relatively quick. Needs to work on his finishing more, and heading doesnt seem to be his strength in spite of his superior height. Great season so far, and successfully established himself as a starter in Nurnberg.

Odonkor- the fastest player currently in Deutschland, or even one of the fastest in the world. His poor finishing has rather limit him as a Right Winger. But i've seen him played as a center forward in U20. His crossing is apparenty improving, and luckily as Dortmund's striking duo Koller and Van Der Gun are injured, he has more chance to play in the first team. His record in U20, U19 is so far quick impressive. in U21, he played 9 matches and scored 3, but still, needs a lot of work in his finishing

Fathi- Has established himself as a rather important player in Hertha. Quite a reliable LB, but i really doubt his chance of getting into the NT esp when Lahm, Pander have recovered.

If Odonkor has a good season, I think he has a shot of making the WC squad. This guy is so quick. Faster than Henry even. He can be a huge weapon coming in late during a game.

Adler, Trochowski, Kiessling, Odonkor and Hanke are the best ;)

Odonkor is the player to watch for.... I really hope he can make it to the NT soon (maybe after the WC 06)... Have a great pace but unfortunately have a trouble to find the net.. Perhaps Odonkor,Kiessling and Hunt will be in the German NT team in Euro 2008. As for Fathi... well, its too hard for him to make it to the senior NT. LB position already have two great player Lahm and Jansen...

Odonkor is nowhere near ready for the national team. He needs to establish himself at BVB first, where he has never had a run in the first team until now. I really like him as a player, and if he sorts his final ball / shooting out he'll be a world class player, but to talk him up as a World Cup player is absolutely ridiculous.

Why do Germans (especially on this forum) always want to put kids into the NT after about 2 good games in the Bundesliga? With superstar talents like Podolski I can understand it (maybe Mertesacker too) but the rest of them are just far too young and inexperienced.

Don't worry guys about the German future. I'm almost certain after WC2006 Germany will evolve as a major powerhouse. I can't see us winning next WC but it will help develope major young talents. These will serve as shepards for the next comming young generation. Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Mertesacker, Hildebrandt, Wiedenfeller, Hunt, Madlung, Volz, Hanke, Mueller, Trochowsky and others to come are very powerful to be denied by the international scene. I just hope injuries will keep away from those guys and they may develope together in harmony with disputes.
