Just saw the highlights of the Bayern vs. Hamburg highlights and I have to say that Hamburg have an excellent core in Piotr Trochowski, Van der Vaart and Benny Lauth. Van der Vaart is class and Piotr Trochowski had an excellent game. Even though Lauth has not scored in a while but he had great touches and 2 pretty nice scoring chances. I really can see both Lauth and Trochowski play an important role in EC08 (maybe WC06 if they continue to play this way). Too bad Van Der Vaart is not German

I reckon the key is the trainer, I am very impressed with the spirit that Doll seems to be creating, and how he seems to be getting persistent underperformers to do well, players like Mpenza for example.

They won't win the league this year, but qualifying for the the Champions League has got to be a target.
