Taken off in the 53 minute and replaced by Scholl.
He has not played good for Bayern in two years now and should not be near the German team.
Bayern sell Frings and Rau and keep this monkey.
He only gets games because of his name.
The guy is useless.

1.) Stop supporting Bayer Leverkusen.
2.) Stop watching football in general.
3.) Go watch basketball or something.
kthxbye.

Deisler is finished? Didn't know the useless idiot had even started! :)

OMG  useless? idiot?
Why do you insult him in that way??? You haven't even seen him in every game of the season. maybe you should ask yourself who's the idiot  b/c Deisler is not!
I said in another thread that he plays at the wrong club. When he gets more match practice and full trust of the coach he'll play like the "old" Deisler again ;) I hope he moves to another club.

I have seen every single minute that Deisler has spent on the field this season and he has been pathetic. I really don't know what people are so fascinated about with Deisler, he looked good at the start of his career, but he is heading into the middle of his career now and he has achieved sweet FA so far in his career. Every few months he plays a decent game and German fans start creaming themselves that the "old" Deisler is back. Its sad.
Has he been instrumental in his club winning anything? Has he ****!
Has he ever done anything worth mentioning in the Champions League? No way!
Has he ever done anything special in a German national shirt? Never!
Does anyone outside of Germany know who Deisler is? NO!
He is mediocre, a good Bundesliga player at best. He is a weak personality as his mental breakdown shows and in 10 years nobody will ever remember him.

Do agree however that he plays at the wrong club - he should be playing for Unterhaching. :)

Haha very funny!
Have you ever seen his injury list?! It's a wonder that he can even play again! He fighted hard for his comeback...I bet many of you would have gave up already.
He wants to prove his abilities. It's a normal process that he acts hastily in most of the games, b/c he doesn't get many chances to play atm, and when he gets a chance he does it all wrong by pushing himself too much. He needs match practice...nothing else. It makes no sense for him to play only one game in 5 weeks! That will never help if he wants to reach his old form.
I see it that way. Maybe you haven't seen the Deisler in his good days, before all the injuries happened, b/c if you would, you would talk different.
I still believe in him :USA_Blue
How can you see him, when you watch Borussia games?!

I also have Premiere, I see nearly all BL games.
Agree with you when you say Deisler was good as a kid, but so was Lars Ricken.

Yes, I have my doubts about Deisler too. This is bad for the NT.
However we have the Pig who is maturing nicely into a world class player.
I thought Deisler had the potential to rise to that level, but sadly it does not look that way.
And with a club like Bayern he will be warming the bench and will be deprived of much needed match practice to get to his best.

This old Deisler- when was that !
He arrived in the Bundesliga in 1998 after Germany's poor world cup ensued panic in Germany that we have no good young players. He scored two free kicks for Gladbach in the opening matchday and he was a hero!
Him and Ballack were the only young talents around at the time.
Okay he played good in a few games for Gladbach and for Berlin (sometimes in the midfield-even though he doesn't know how to tackle).
But he was hardly outstanding.
And what has he ever done for Germany ?
In euro 2000 again people say-oh yeah he looks promising-but he didn't really do anything.
He was sent off in Greece in the first half in a 4-2 win, missed an open goal and was anonymous in the England 5-1 game.
And that's it!

Yes max, I think that's what set off his depression! :ninja

I agree he should be at another club but he is not finished. The guy still shows moments of brilliance. In the confed cup, that cross to Hanke against Tunisia was beautiful. Seriously there are only a handful of players in the world who can send in a cross with that pace, curve and accuracy all while moving. If he moves to a smaller club, he can become a great player.

Against Arsenal last year in london he was the best player on the pitch. We can all agree that he never made the expectations that were set on him but good God he is defently not finished.
With the national team I though he was really good in the confederation cup.

cannot agree more.. for now, Schweini is much much better than Deisler and he's consistent. Yes that guy got talent but he needs to play regularly.. but, with lots of injury histories, many players will not play as good as they are before..

If you follow NHL or International hockey, you may remember a certain Swedish goalie named Tommy Salo. He played well for club and country, that was until OS-02 where a puck rolled down his back and into the goal, losing the game for Sweden. He was never the same. He lost his starting position for Edmonton and is currently a back-up that never sees play in Colorado.
As Sick Boy says, "you have it, then you don't."
Maybe this is Deisler's case.

I mentioned the Pig above, but I have also seen enough of Podolski to be very confident that he will be a world class player. The little I have seen of Hanke also gives me similar encouragement.
But I have never seen anything special from Deisler. His superstar status may have been prematurely created by the media. However this is very unGerman, and more like what the English does to their players --- from Hoddle, Gascoigne all the way to Rooney.
I have always found Germans to be more pessamistic and conservative in their assessments about German players.

Perfect example that we lacked great talents for a long period of time.
OUt of those: Ricken, Deisler, Reich and Lauth were great talents but the rest is chicken ****... Just my opinion. Rau, Franz, Auer... :laugh:nono

I was in a time Germany had no good talents. People where looking for a great talent to appear again. After Friedel Rausch the coach of the Gladbach-team said (even before Deisler had his first BL-appearance) that he thinks Deisler is a century-talent and will be once mentioned with the likes of Beckenbauer, Walter in the same breath.
Adding, that after Deisler joined Bayern Jeremies and even a Scholl, who has great technique himself, said that he does things in training they have never seen before.
Maybe that explains the hopes.:drinkbeer
I think he just scrateches his potential, wether he will ever fullfill it is quite unlikely. But he needs much more game-practise

jeremies n scholl r two players that we missed the most IMO. they could be 2 of the greatest midfield in europe if not for their injuries years ago.

I think he left Hertha far too early. He was so young and we could have helped him so much before making the jump to a big club. I've seen him in practice firsthand and what Gerry says is very true. The guy has this vision on the field that is incredible. He can make passes that you never thought were possible or could even be made. His crossing was mesmerizing. Dead accuracy, right to any part on the recieving players body and the guy is at a breakneck sprint.
Just...wow.
