the home game versus west ham is worth 30 loyatly pts if your a card holder but for a 500 mile round trip and 8 hours travleing to the arseanal game only carry's 10 loyaty pts this is madness .i still dont trust the ticket office to stick to season tickets holders first .ans as i said last time i wrote about this why do you have to get awards to go to a home game what sort of fans are we turning in to if you have to be bribed to go to a home game sheer madness in my oionion .

Thats just the way it works. They know the tickets will sell out for all the "big matches" so they put the loyalty points down to a minimum and to a maximum for all the matches that bring teams such as West Ham, Portsmouth, etc.

By doing this they are more hopeful of selling out with the matches with the lower clubs, it also saves them money if u dont sell out and they have to pay the rest of the seats off.

The big matches mean most, people NEED loyalty points.

I thought this....

For me to renew my season ticket... I got 100 loyalty points for the season.
Now someone with a City card, can go to the West ham game (30pts), and the bolton game (20 pts), so to go to 2 games, they get half as many points to buy 2 tickets, as I do for spending £450 on a season ticket!

Doesn't really make sense does it?

Dunno whether you wanted me to explain or not.... but I will anyway.

To Get away tickets, preference is given to people with more loyalty points.

At that rate... someone could buy 5 tickets to home games.. and get more loyalty points than I get for spending £450 on a season ticket, and going to 19 home games....

So in future.. the less loyal supporter... would have more chance of getting a ticket to a popular away game... than I would.

That's what doesn't make sense!

Got it yet?

I get ya now :d

The away ticket thing is the same with us but the tickets for the away matches go on sale to season ticket holders first.

and this is why i am so agaist the loyaty pts for home games i know before i was told that season ticket holders will allways get first choice of away tickets but why give out loyaty points if there not going to get away tickets to card holders its just one big con and unfair toi season ticket holders .

I disagree with both of you.

I'm pretty sure that when you purchase a season ticket you get a shedload of points, e.g. 1000/500 points?, therefore, even if you went to every home game on a citycard this year, you would accumulate say 350/400 points maximum. Which will nowhere near be enough points for the big away games e.g. man utd away. And only the big games a lot of loyalty points are needed for, so season ticket holders etc and people who have renewed still have a far greater chance of gaining a ticket.

But it does seem a bit of a kick in the teeth when you are travelling a lot of miles away only to be 'rewarded' with a measly 10 points etc.

OK Thiggy... a Scenario for you.

You do get a 1000 points for a season ticket... so.. lets say someone (A)buys a season ticket this year... and (B), goes to 10 games this year...
A) = 1000
B) = 300

Next year.. and the year after...(A) renews his season ticket twice, and (B) does the same as this year
A) = 1200
B) = 900

Then the year after, (A) renews again.. and (B) decides to get a season ticket...
A) = 1300
B) = 1900

Hence... person with a first year season ticket, has a better chance of getting an away ticket than a 3 year season ticket holder....

If you still disagree... there's no point in carrying on an argument.. but I think the common sense is there for all to see!!

What d'yer reckon??

Who is saying that City will continue to give out 30 points per game next season and season after etc?

Plus i expect all of the current season ticket holders to have lots of points from many seasons. Citycard holders do not go to every game and will go to the odd few, therefore will never have enough points to trouble the 'regulars' chance of getting a big away game ticket.

Groucho

They might not carry on with the 30 points a game etc...

But... they might.

And you are right in what you say, people going to 10 home games or whatever, are not likely to catch up with people who have had a ST for years,
But new ST holders would soon be overtaken by people going to the odd game, and imo makes a bit of a mockery of a 'loyalty' point system.

£450 for a season ticket, gets you 100 loyalty points....
£250 for 10 of the lesser games... gets you 300 loyalty points.

Where is the logic in that?

There isn't any-and that's city all over tbh. Saying that, i got through my receipt for the last manchester derby 2weeks ago to say where i was sitting etc......another logical move by the ticket office.

In relation to the loyalty scheme here i think it can be a little unfair that some cardholders can have as much entitlement to tickets for a game as seasoncard holders. The thing is, as thiggy says, it is very rare that season card holders go to most games (hence the extra loyalty points added to encourage them to go to games) and if they do go to most games, then they are paying extra money to go to single games rather than in bulk and in my opininon therefore do deserve an enhanced entitlement. As for the travelling side of it, that is ridiculous and totally unfair to those that travel from manc to london and only get 10 points whereas some others will get 3 times that amount for going to certain games. City eh?

to renew a season ticket you get 100 pts thats all then 10 pts per game after that . a season card holder only has to do 4 games to catch us up .

Yeah.. but that's not 10 points for home games is it?... now if you got another 10 points every time you attended a home game on your season ticket... that wouldn't be so bad!
(that'd be 100 for renewing.. 190 to attend them all... 290 a year!)

Only 10 points when you manage to get to an away game!... but without the loyalty points... yer knackered!
See my scenario earlier in the thread Bry!

right read and please take in what i say

when tickets go on sale season ticket holders can apply before card members
so if a season ticket holder had only 100 pts he would be able to get a ticket before card holders do even if he had 100000000000 points, the season ticket holder with only 100 points gets it first, just look on the site when you apply it will give season ticket holders a few days before the card members can apply, its not rocket science lads, straight forward really

Groucho

Right... I too can try and write a patronising post....

I know season ticket holders can apply first... but with the system the way it was... a Citycard holder would only have to attended 4 home games to get more points than my 100 points for renewing my season card

So if this person applies for a season ticket next year... he would have more points than me... and therefore have more chance of getting away tickets than me... and he'd have a season ticket for less time than me.... and have more loyalty points!!

to be fair i never thought about it that way, good point, but its all sorted now season ticket holders get the same points now for home games,
but while we are the subject of tickets, what pissed me off was 99 play off
season ticket holders getting 2 tickets, and i had a mate who went all home games a lot of away that season and never got a ticket for wembley,
why they give us 2 tickets for a final is wrong imo

Manchester City v West Ham United

Sun October 16 - kick off 4pm

30 loyalty points for this game

Manchester City v Aston Villa

Mon October 31 - kick off 8pm

30 loyalty points for this game

yet you go to two away games in london fulham and arsenal and you get 10 less that someone who has gone to one of the above home games....????
just don't under satdn how u can give someone 30 loyalty points for a home game yet only 10 for arsenal and fulham. his also means us season tickket holders get 100 points for renewing st yet a member can go to 4 home games in one season and get more!!!! rant over opinions???
