The home game against you, fúcks sake, about 3 programmes got screwed up and Ian Dowie's name was used in vain for about 4 hours. Oh and that was because Ian Dowie nearly had a fight with some home fans.

**** **** and more ****. we are in the third teer of english football for the third consecutive season, can it get much worse? on a positive note, we have a decent chairman investing funds into a new 50000 seater stadium which would make us one of the biggest clubs in england and have spent over 1.5 million on players once again this season. lets hope the **** stops here and we start moving forward hey! oh and shelly how come you never post in the forest forum any more??!

Now we are back in the basement league we have a lot of work to do.
A new manager (Rico) who has signed a few new players (much kudos to him for signing Lester from Forest btw....he looks very good)
There is light at the end of the tunnel (maybe) and some say that Chessy might be up there at the end of the season...hmmmm...maybe....I dunno but I hope so.
The friendly results have gone ok up to press with a few wins, a draw and one loss but as we all know friendlys mean diddly squat eh
Anyway...good luck to my beloved Spireites.

A fair result at 0-0 apparently.
Chances for both teams with the pick of the town players being Lester and Kovacs.

Chesterfield shocked favourites for promotion Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon beating the Posh 3-2 at London Road. Jack Lester, Jamie Lowry, and Derek Niven scored and it could have been even better for the Spireites who missed a penalty and had a couple of goals disallowed.

So the moneybags of this division got beaten (more easily than the scoreline suggests) by little Chessie.
Put a big smile on my face :cool

Just come back off holiday and to round it all off Chesterfield beat local neighbours Mansfield 3-1 away...Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Match report.....

Mansfield Town 1
Chesterfield 3

Saturday saw Chesterfield travel to fierce rivals Mansfield Town for the first meeting between the two sides since 2003. The Spireites were in hot form on the back of three consecutive victories, and took a crowd of 1,900 to Field Mill. It seems there was some kind of confusion with the allocation, as the Chesterfield fans easily filled the North Stand, and then had to be moved into the Bishop Street stand due to a lack of seats. A dismal attendance of just over 4,500 meant almost half the crowd were Spireites.

Lee Richardson made one change from the side that beat Bury 3-1 last weekend, bringing back the now fully fit Jamie Winter to replace young Ben Algar. Aaron Downes and Adam Rooney were both back from International duty, and they began the game on the substitute's bench. The Chesterfield supporters were vocal from well before the kick-off, but a minutes silence for the two soldiers killed in Afghanistan was impeccably observed by both sets of supporters prior to the game kicking off.

Chesterfield kicked off the game towards the Quarry Lane end of the ground which was populated by a couple of hundred Mansfield Town supporters and within a minute of the game starting had won a corner kick. The kick was swung in by Gregor Robertson, who need no assistance as the ball swerved into the back of the net past the helpless ex-Spireite Carl Muggleton to send the visiting supporters wild.

The home side fought back well after the set back and McAllister had the ball into the back of the net for the Stags on six minutes, but it was adjudged to have been offside by the referees assistant. On eight minutes the Stags won a corner that was swung in by Matthew Hamshaw, Stephen Dawson hit a fine shot which was tipped around the corner by Barry Roche. However, from the resulting corner on nine minutes a fine volley twenty yards out from Stephen Dawson went into the top corner of the Spireites goal, as Mansfield Town scored their first goal at Field Mill against Chesterfield since 1995.

The Stags became much more positive following that goal and began to dominate the game for a short period of time, but on seventeen minutes Jack Lester had a shot from the edge of the area and it was deflected wide for a corner. Peter Leven took the resulting corner and the ball fell to Derek Niven who headed just wide of the mark. On nineteen minutes Jack Lester broke free, but his shot was well saved by Carl Muggleton. On twenty-one minutes a good cross from Jamie Lowry was met by Jack Lester, but he put his shot wide.

On twenty-nine minutes Gregor Robertson gave away a corner, but it came to nothing. On thirty-four minutes Jack Lester broke once again but he was fouled by Stags captain Jake Buxton who was subsequently booked. Jamie Winter took the resulting free-kick playing the ball to Kevin Gray who headed the ball across the box but no-one was there to meet it. Jamie Lowry went into the book on forty minutes after he fouled Stephen Dawson, and a minute later McAllister followed him into the book after a foul on Derek Niven.

The Spireites were starting to really build up the pressure as the first half came to a close and on forty-four minutes Jack Lester got a hold of the ball but his effort was well blocked by Stags' defender Martin McIntosh. Two minutes into first half stoppage time the Chesterfield pressure finally paid off; Gregor Robertson crossed to Steve Fletcher who headed the ball onto the cross bar, Carl Muggleton made a mess of grabbing the ball and Jamie Lowry was there to tap the ball home from six yards out. The half-time whistle blew and Chesterfield were 2-1 up.

Half Time: Mansfield Town 1 - 2 Chesterfield

Neither manager made any substitutes at half-time, but Stags boss Billy Dearden gave his side a more attacking formation for the second half. On forty-eight minutes Chesterfield went straight onto the attack and Peter Leven struck a good long range effort that struck the cross bar. On forty-nine minutes it was the Stags on the attack as Barry Roche did well to deny Michael Boulding. On fifty-one minutes the home side went close again as Martin McIntosh headed wide from close range.

There was controversy on sixty minutes as Barry Roche flew out of his goal, taking out Michael Boulding, but the referee only gave the Spireites' goalkeeper a booking. The resulting free-kick was taken by Michael Boulding, but very well saved by Barry Roche. A minute later the Stags won another free-kick on the edge of the area, but Martin McIntosh's effort was well saved again by Barry Roche. With sixty-three minutes on the clock Lee Richardson made a double substitution bringing on Adam Rooney for Jamie Lowry, and Aaron Downes for Kevin Gray.

On sixty-four minutes Peter Leven played a good ball to Steve Fletcher, but Carl Muggleton read the situation well and cleared the danger. On sixty-seven minutes Billy Dearden made his first change for Mansfield Town bringing off McAllister and replacing him with Danny Sleath. On sixty-eight minutes Jack Lester broke and thought he had scored Chesterfield's third goal, but it was disallowed as Adam Rooney had been caught offside. On seventy-one minutes Jamie Winter went into the book after bringing down Stephen Dawson and on seventy-three minutes a cynical challenge from Mansfield Town captain Jake Buxton on Adam Rooney saw the Stags man sent off.

On eighty minutes the ten men went close to pulling level; Matthew Hamshaw crossed for John McAliskey who headed just wide. On eighty-one minutes John McAliskey was took off by Billy Dearden and replaced by Ian Holmes. Two minutes later Lee Richardson made his final change of the afternoon bringing on Alan O'Hare for Peter Leven.

Three minutes into second half stoppage time Jack Lester suddenly realised he hadn't got his customary goal; he picked up the ball rounded Carl Muggleton and poked the ball home comfortably to send the Chesterfield supporters crazy, and send the sorry Stags home crying (again).

Full Time: Mansfield Town 1 - 3 Chesterfield

Chesterfield won at Field Mill easily, and without even playing to anywhere near our best standard. A word must be said for the attendance at Field Mill, which was disappointing to say the least in terms of home supporters; just 4,513 saw the game with 1,900 of these from Chesterfield. Quite where the Mansfield Town fans were remains a mystery. Of course they will continue to blame Mr. Haslam, but at the end of the day it seems they just have very poor support. Chesterfield are now second in League Two with fourteen points and an impressive goal difference of plus seven. Our lowly neighbours on the other hand continue their slide towards the relegation zone and non-league oblivion. Next up for Chesterfield is a home game against north London side Barnet.

Lost away to Notts County on Saturday with a pretty pish performance although we could/should have got a point.

Then off to Wales we went to mash and bash poor old Wrexham.
A thumping 0-4 away win with goals from Jack Lester (2), Adam Rooney and Peter Leven.
Good performance and win which was just the ticket after the last two games.

Richardson praises Spireites hero

Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson praised two-goal Adam Rooney after their 2-2 draw with Macclesfield.
"He's very enthusiastic, and was a threat throughout the game," he said.

"But we have to learn to sense danger. When your keeper makes a great save, that should be a red alert signal to make sure you defend properly.

"However, I doubt we will play a better footballing side this season. Macclesfield played well and I think they deserved something."

Shrewsbury 2-3 Chesterfield

Chesterfield moved up to second spot in League Two as Shrewsbury suffered their fourth defeat in a row.
The Shrews led when David Hibbert rifled the ball in from 10 yards but the Spireites equalised through Adam Rooney's fine low shot from 20 yards.

Jamie Lowry struck to put Chesterfield ahead and Jack Lester made it 3-1 from the spot after being hauled down in the box by Kelvin Langmead.

Colin Murdock closed the gap when he headed home Marc Tierney's free-kick.

Yet another goal from loanee Adam Rooney plus Jack Lesters 'usual' one lol

Even though we are near the top of the league there are still a few questions to be asked re midfield plus the extent of goals scored against us...but as long as we keep getting the results I will be very happy.

Nice to see Jamie Ward return after injury although it will take a few games for him to get back to full match fitness.

Yet another case of lost points at Saltergate when we could only draw against Dagenham and Redbridge 1-1.
We bossed most of the game but again could not kill the opposition off.
I have a feeling that these wasted points will hurt us come the end of the season.

Yet ANOTHER case of points lost with fellow high flyers Darlington missing most of their strikers....0-0
Although they have a good defence (and a cool stadium by some accounts) we should have taken the lions share of the points by many accounts.
But fair play to Darlo....a good team.
Felix Bastians is playing well and hit the post too...pity he's only a loanee.

Naivety costing us - Richardson

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson was left frustrated by his team's naivety in the 2-2 draw with Morecambe.
Richardson said: "We passed them off the park, working good situations and creating good chances.

"But if we're going to be as wasteful as we have been, we will always leave ourselves liable to the sucker punch.

"We have youth and vitality in the team but the flip side is a naivety at times - a lack of understanding and sensing danger. They have to learn from this."

That was Saturdays result....then we played Lincoln City (nice place...crap footie team)

Lincoln 2-4 Chesterfield

Chesterfield's Jack Lester destroyed Lincoln with a first-half hat-trick.
Lester was left unmarked to score early on and he soon added his second with a shot from inside the box.

He completed his hat-trick with a close-range shot, before Lincoln pulled a goal back when Dany N'Guessan beat two defenders and fired home.

Chesterfield hit a deserved fourth when Adam Rooney's flick was converted by Janos Kovacs, but Lincoln pulled back another with Hamza Bencherif's header.

We could have had 6 and Lester again is the goalscoring machine.
Someone is bound to pay some big money for him soon and snatch him off us.

A nice win but we still ship goals from even the lowest of teams...quite worrying.

MK Dons 1-2 Chesterfield

Chesterfield fought back from a goal down to beat table-topping MK Dons.
Mark Wright had given the home side the lead side-footed an effort across keeper Barry Roche after latching onto Lloyd Dyer's cross.

Chesterfield pressed for a leveller and were rewarded when Adam Rooney crossed for Felix Bastians to slam home.

They completed their comeback as Jamie Ward reacted quickest to Jamie Lowry's cross and neatly finished inside the near post.

A massive win against the table toppers and well deserved.
The only draw back was Jack Lesters injury which could cost us dear.

Despite losing to Accrington Stanley (sheeeeeesh) 2-1 last week we finally won at home for the first time in 3 months....against fierce local rivals Mansfield...YAY!!!

Chesterfield 2-0 Mansfield
Jack Lester returned from injury to earn 10-man Chesterfield a first home win in more than three months and leave Mansfield at the bottom of League Two.
Michael Boulding fired wide for the Stags before Lester marked his first game in five weeks with a clinical finish early in the second half.

Jamie Ward wrapped up the victory on the hour when he went past John Mullins to score from 15 yards.

Chesterfield's Kevin Gray was sent off for a foul on Simon Brown.

Nice to win against them....its always good to win against them :D
The only sore point was the injury to Felix Bastians and the sending off of Kevin Gray....a tad harsh tbh.

Bury 0-1 Chesterfield
Chesterfield won at Gigg Lane for the first time in 61 years as they beat Bury thanks to a Peter Leven penalty.
Bury had to play the last half-hour with 10 men after captain Paul Scott was red-carded after two bookings.

Leven won and scored Chesterfield's penalty just the interval after he was fouled by Andy Parrish and proceed to beat Jim Provett with a low shot.

It was Leven's first goal since October and he should have got another late on, but he chipped wide of the far post.

Keep up the good work lads

3 wins in a row!

Barnet 0-2 Chesterfield
Chesterfield pair Adam Rooney and Janas Kovacs each scored as they helped their side to a comfortable win over Barnet.
Liam Hatch was the Barnet captain for the day on his final appearance before a move to Peterborough but he missed a glorious headed chance early on.

And his side paid the price after Jack Lester released Rooney to roll the ball beyond keeper Lee Harrison.

Kovacs had a header hacked off the line but scored when he stabbed in after Harrison spilled Peter Leven's corner.

Promotion-chasing Chesterfield took the lead when Anthony Williams' poor clearance fell to Peter Leven, who lobbed back over the keeper's head.

Shaun Pejic's defensive error gave prolific Jack Lester the space to rifle in the second before the break.

Chesterfield 4-0 Hereford
Chesterfield produced one of their best performances of the season as they beat Hereford to end the visitors' 10-match unbeaten run away from home.
Jamie Lowry shot home early on after being set up be Jack Lester, who added a second after charging down a clearance from Wayne Brown.

Lester cut in from the right and fired in his second before Jamie Ward rattled the Hereford bar from 30 yards.

Brendan Maloney lashed in a 25-yard shot to complete the home side's win.

Barnet 1-3 Chesterfield

Jack Lester scored twice as Chesterfield came from behind to take all three points at Underhill.

The Spireites started strongly but Barnet took the lead on 17 minutes when Ashley Carew's free-kick from just inside his own half sailed in.

Lester levelled 10 minutes after the break, beating his man and firing home and he made it 2-1 to the visitors with a delightful chip from 18 yards.

And Jamie Ward sealed the win, slotting home after a defensive mix-up.

Great start to the season :clap

Grimsby 0-1 Chesterfield

Jamie Ward's first-half shot was enough to give Chesterfield a deserved win.

The visitors dominated the first period and went ahead on 42 minutes when Ward raced on to Darren Currie's pass and fired home into the far corner.

Ward also went close with a first-half shot and Jamie Lowry saw a decent headed chance saved by Phil Barnes.

James Hunt had Grimsby's best chance but his close-range shot was blocked while Peter Till had a fine left-foot shot saved after the break.

A good away win against a side that did the double against us last season.
We can win away so hopefully we can do the business at home.
We also need another striker 'cos only having two on the books is dodgy to say the least.
Lord help us if we lose any of 'em to long term injury.
Anyway well done the Spireites :)

Once again no luck.
Last kick of the ball they score.

Pissed off...2-1 to a very lucky Rochdale

Lost 3-1 to Lincoln City with ex blue boy Janos Kovacs getting a goal against us.
Crap performance but big ups to Kovacs who refused to celebrate his goal against us.
Nice guy and good defender who we never should have let go.
Lester scored for us btw

Won at home 5-1 against Aldershot.
This win has took some pressure off under fire manager Lee Richardson.
Good game with Jamie Ward scoring a hat trick and Derek Niven and of course Jack Lester chipping in.
We needed a win desperately and I hope this is a sign of things to come

Won again against Notts County 3-1.
A pretty hard fought encounter against are near neighbours.
Goals for us were the very in form Jamie Ward, a deflected shot by Alan Goodall and a late injury time third from Paul Harsley.
Good win for the Spireites and hopefully we can get a run of results and also that little bit of luck.

Exeter 1-6 Chesterfield

Chesterfield stunned high-flying Exeter with a crushing win at St James Park.

Jamie Winter fired into the top corner to put the visitors ahead and Alan Goodall's deflected shot made it 2-0.

Exeter replied when Adam Stansfield met Marcus Stewart's cross but a mistake by home keeper Paul Jones let Jack Lester restore the Spireites's two-goal lead.

Lester robbed Jones of the ball to add a fourth goal and more poor defending let Jamie Ward run through to score before Darren Currie rolled in a sixth.

Six goals away from home wtf!!!

Please carry on this run of form guys

A lucky win away from home with a 1 - 3 scoreline for the Spireites against Chester at the Deva stadium.
We were under the cosh for quite a while but had the run of the ball for a change.
An own goal, a scorcher from Winter and Kerry getting a a ball bounce off him into the net.
I will take a lucky/jammy win etc btw

Lee Richardson mate.
Promised us at least a play-off place for 2 years now.
Has had quite a bit of financial backing and brought in a good few players on big wages (for league 2).
Tbh it's been time for him to go for a good while imo.

Oh and we drew at home to Barnet 1 -1
A bit of a crap performance at times and a draw at home isn't good enough.

Bury 1-2 Chesterfield
Promotion-chasing Bury slumped to a second successive defeat as 10-man Chesterfield held on at Gigg Lane.

Aaron Downes stabbed in Town's opener from close-in before Bury's Efe Sodje had a header cleared off the line.

Jack Lester beat two defenders on his way to doubling the visitor's lead but Gregor Robertson saw red for a lunge on Elliott Bennett before half-time.

Bury pressed forward and Andy Bishop scored a penalty after Mike Jones, who later blazed over, was felled.

A real surprise here that the battling Blues got from high flying Bury.
A backs to the wall effort after having Gregor Robertson senf of before the break.
Some poor decisions from the ref not only including the sending off (straight red...harsh) and also a stone wall penalty which the linesman flagged for but the ref waved away...amazingly bad decision.
But we held on and kept our very faint play off hopes alive.

We virtually handed you the game. We completely left Kavanagh to his own devices and he picked us apart piece by piece. Three big-ish injuries took their toll too; missing a top class defender and had no target man to hoof to.

Hopefully just a blip for us. Gudjon done gobsmackingly good since he came, just name Manager of the Month too, can't see us failing to stay up now. Never thought I'd say that a couple of months ago. :dk

Didn't think I would say this this season but thank the Lord for Michael Bridges!!! He saved us today. 90th minute goal against Yeovil to pull it back to 1-1.

We didn't sound like we played very well today - completely different team to how they played on Tuesday against Crewe. But that seems to be what we're doing at the minute - one bad game, one good game.

Leyton Orient at home on Tuesday night - C'MON THE BLUES!!!

Carlisle 1 - 3 Leyton Orient

Can't believe how bad we played last night, it was embarrassing! Our defence was non-existent and we just couldn't create any chances. Half our players are injured and we have some 36 year-old idiot from Doncaster on emergency loan because our main striker has been injured.

Our idiot of a manager has said to the local press that he is blaming the media for our recent poor performances - think he needs to be blaming himself and his ridiculous tactics!!

Luckily, the other results went our way and we managed to stay 16th.

We have Scunthorpe at home on Saturday - we are going to get pummelled!

Chesterfield 2-1 Grimsby
Grimsby put in a battling display but stayed in the League Two relegation zone after a defeat by Chesterfield.

Drew Talbot put the hosts ahead when his 25-yard lob sailed over keeper Wayne Henderson and went in off the underside of the crossbar.

Derek Niven smashed in a 20-yard drive to extend Chesterfield's lead.

Ryan Bennett fired through a crowded six-yard box after Chesterfield had failed to clear a corner to pull one back but the home side held on to win.

Still keeping our faint chances of a play off place alive with a win against Grimsby (and their old guy tosspot footie factory wannabess)

Great to see Derek Niven score after he came back from a testicular cancer scare earlier on in the season...well done mate.

Carlisle 1 - 1 Scunthorpe

Good result for us today and very much improved since Tuesday night's performance against Leyton Orient! Scunthorpe didn't look threatening at all and for them being in the play-off places and us down at 16th, we didn't look too bad against them. Their goal was absolutely fantastic though - no way that was getting stopped by anyone.

We lost 3-0 to Southend today. It's not looking good at the minute. We are just lucky that the scores went our way today and we have managed to stay 16th.

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/45602000/jpg/_45602308_lester_226_get.jpg Chesterfield are four points off the play-off places

Chesterfield boosted their play-off hopes with a fine 3-0 victory over promotion hopefuls Rochdale. The hosts opened the scoring when Jack Lester took advantage of a sliced clearance from defender Tom Kennedy before beating keeper Frank Fielding.
Lester grabbed his second on the hour with a clever turn and finish from just inside the penalty area.
Gregor Robertson sealed victory when he latched onto a clever back heel from Lloyd Kerry before beating Fielding.

Well we are still hanging in there and as long as we keep getting good results who knows...play offs???

We drew 2-2 at Leicester today, which I am really pleased about! We're still 19th in the table and things are very tight but I think a result like that should boost the lads' confidence and hopefully we can get some wins over the next couple of games.

Against all the odds we managed to stay up again despite losing our best manager in years half way through the season. At the moment every season in the championship is a bonus so lets hope we can stay up another few more. Even better when we are in this league and loads of ex premeirship clubs are getting relegated. Anyway I am new to hear so be gentle with me.

The ground has been a mess as long as I have been going and can't see it getting any better soon. Think we need a big Arab or somebody to put a bit of money in or maybe if one of the fans wins the Euro Millions. But we are stuck with the Oystons and their empty promises at the moment.
