This is the list for the players called up for the game against Paraguay, Goalies still need to be named:

Defenders: Roberto Ayala, Fabricio Coloccini, Gabriel Militto, Juan Pablo Sorín,Gabriel Heinze, Facundo Quiroga

Midfielders: Juan Román Riquelme, Maximiliano Rodríguez, Pablo Zabaleta, Esteban Cambiasso, Mario Santana , Andrés D'Alessandro, Lucas Bernardi, Luis González, Javier Mascherano.

Forwards: Luciano Galetti, Lionel Messi, Hernán Crespo, Lisandro López

why is Bernardi called up? we have cambiasso and mascherano, two world-class players. What's with Aimar? Nice to see Zabaleta and messi again in the squad.

macherano is moving clubs so they are giving him some time.aimars been pretty poor this past season but theres no doubt he will pick up his form again

mascherano is injured if he recoveres he will play, nothing official as been said about the move to Atletico, so dont believe everything you read. Aimar...dont have alot of hope of him recovering in this year, so...i think D'Alessandro will take his place. Just my thought.

The Aimar in River was better than Riquelme and anyone else, but the current one isnt half of what he use to be, dont think i rate D'Alessandro very high, i think he disappears in big matches.

i hope aimar plays well next season. i really want him to play at the WC instead of D'Alessandro.

yeah i was really impressed with his performances for palermo last year & he was good for argentina in confederation cup
