Udinese striker Carsten Jancker has now gone an amazing 18 months since scoring a league goal.

The German international last found the net for Bayern Munich in their clash with Kaiserslautern on 12th May 2001.

"I know - that people watch me, especially as a foreign player and a member of the World Cup runners-up," he told 'Kicker' magazine.

"That I haven't scored gets on my nerves. But at the moment its like a mission impossible."

For those that didn`t see the goal, he was just passed the ball in front of an empy net, and from 2 metres away he scored. His first league goal in one and a half year...makes you wonder!

If you look at Jancker's stats with Bayern though-they make impressive reading.

A goal every two games over the three years before last year's drought.
And alot of those games were sub appearances too.

I remember the 2001 Bayern glory season and he scored the opening goal for Bayern nearly every game he played.
Jancker's strength is basically making life hard for defenders.
Hitzfeld brought him on in the 2001 CL final when Bayern needed a goal and Jancker won and penalty.

I'm not a Jancker fan but I think he can improve his holding play and lay-offs and be a real pain the arse for opponents.

What is the young German Gemiti like for Udinese ?

Didn`t play much I think, in fact I`m not sure if he started a game as of yet. He`s only 21 and still with lots of time to prove himself.

poor Jancker, when will he realize his true talents are not in footy. He chose the wrong career. He should be apply for the next vacant flagpole job! There his true talents would shrine.

even in germany the guy is hated... 95% of germans want him off the national team... does that tell you how "good" the guy is

Goal drought getting Jancker down eh?

I'm sure Jancker is upset by his bad spell of form, in which his performances have been awful, seeing as it has lasted him his entire playing career.

I bet at school he was the ugly kid who got hit in the face with the ball and it went in, or was the school teacher's son or something so he got in the side.
