HERTHA BERLIN general manager has confirmed that The Old Lady are interested in bringing Turkish international marksman Ilhan Mansiz to the German capital. Besiktas forward Ilhan, who heralds from Munich, starred for his country in the World Cup and has become a target for a number of clubs,*with Bayern Munich the frontrunners.
The 26-year-old has indicated that he would relish a return to his place of birth but Hertha are set to rival Bayern for the player's services.
"Mansiz is one of the players we are looking at," Hoeness told 'Bild'.
"The fact that he grew up here and speaks German*is an advantage."
Ilhan is out of contract at the end of the season and Besiktas will be wary of the front-man leaving Istanbul for nothing.
