Sheffield Wednesday have failed in an attempt to take Michael Duberry on loan from Leeds.
Owls boss Terry Yorath had hoped to take the former Chelsea player to Hillsborough to solve his defensive problems.
Leeds have injuries of their own and have turned down his request.
Yorath told Leeds' official club website: "I spoke to Leeds' chief scout about Michael Duberry. But he is back in the Leeds squad now so it won't happen and I'll turn my attentions elsewhere." Yorath also attempted to take David Batty from Elland Road earlier in the season but was again rebuffed.
