Mertesacker to Bremen?

There are rumours that Merte signed a preliminary agreement with Werder and will go there after the 05/06 season.

I mean it's certain that he will leave 96 after next season but I don't know what I'd think about a move to Bremen....

Hmm I think it would be a step forward for him. Bremen will maybe play in the CL, and it would be good for him to have some international experience.

On the other hand he's still young...another year in Hannover wouldn't "kill" him either.

its summertime and rumours come and go - i doubt that this is true. some time ago there were rumours that mertesacker signed a preliminary agreement with bayern, can anyone remember ?

Mertesacker wont switch club before 2006. I bet he dont want to risk sitting on the bench when he leaves Hannover and thus endangering his WC06 participation.

Per today siad he wants to play in the PL and his favourite club is Arsenal.

Maybe Wenger really was here because of Per?
I think it would be too early. He still needs to get better. He wasn't all that good in the Cenfed Cup up to now.
