What the heck have Sammer done to VfB...?
Every player and his dog are on their way out it seems...
Lahm
Vranjes
Stojanov
Benaglio
Szabics
Yakin
Kuranyi
And thatīs just those that already have left.
There are rumours about other players on their way out as well.

Then so it is. I don't care, if they want to leave, then they should. I don't wanna have a player in my team, that isn't proud to be a part of it.
Just one thing, Vranjes, Stojanov, Banaglio, Szabics, Yakin are those player who didn't play for us the whole season. They played hardly 3-4 games. There's not one reason to cry after them or try to hold them. They only earned lots of money, for doing nothing... we don't need that.
Lahm didn't play the whole season either because of his injury and we all knew that he'd leave Stuttgart. Kuranyi is just a fu***** a******! Sorry, can't stand this guy anymore.
But we're free from dept now, not many clubs can say that and it's a good feeling. The new striker will be Alex Frei I hope. He said, that Stuttgart his very interesting and his best friend Marco Streller plays here too.
Like I said in another thread. You Schalker should be really careful with your money. I think it's unbelievable what you're doing with it! Buying, buying, buying...a big risk, especially when you see what almost happened to Dortmund.
Nobody of the BvB management wanted to hear when Uli Hoeneß said that they spend too much money on player and their content and that it'll not end up in a good way ...just like the Schalker mangement...they don't want to hear either. Just go on like this, you'll see where it ends. Either good or bad, we'll see.

Of course we are currently overspending, we are trying to build a team that might challenge Bayern for years to come...:cool
So what does our finances look like?

Then how come you have around 110 million debts and we are debtfree now with Kuranyi leaving??? Something must be wrong with this ranking, mate. You can't rely on such rankings. We'll never know how the exact finances look like. But I believe that Schalke have lots of depts and IF you don't play CL every year then you'll get serious problems.
It's alright that you want to compete with Bayern, but I think you should't overdo it. Just look at Real Madrid...they have the best player in the world and didn't win ONE title this season. The difference is they can afford it, because they have the money. You need to play CL, because your under pressure with the depts you have. Even Assauer said that Schalke needs to play CL, because of the money they get there. So what do you do if you don't play CL every year? You first have to prove that you belong up there by showing constant performances.
You're far away form being a worldclass club like Bayern. You played a good last season, just like 2001. If you want to become a worldclass club you must have permanent success...and not only every 3rd year.
Look at Bayern, they worked pretty hard for their titles. Especially in the '70ies they played with their own youth, and Schalke sells their talents to Wolfsburg
Bayern is now over 30 years successful and that's not so easy to imitate.
Success isn't coming in a year, you need to plan for the future too. I see no future if you buy, buy, buy someday you won't get any credits and what are doing then? It's all so risky...Dortmund wanted to be like Bayern too and they even won the CL. And now? It almost ended in a desaster for Dortumund. They had luck that they even got the license.
My opinion is, if you want to become a worldclass club, you shouldn't force to become it in one or 2 years. That's a long process and your finances should be healthy too.

Stop making a storm Schwalker-all those players were due to leave.Only Lahm and Kuranyi played.Lahm's loan is up and Kuranyi is after $$$$$..Schalke will be like Dortmund in a few years-LOL
At least VFB know their place-a top 5 team, nice football and good smart spending and buying..

I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that it should never come to such a situation that Dortumund experienced. That's all! Your management doesn't see that, Assauer is a dreamer and always will be.
You can't make high debts in real life too. Or can you?!? :woot
That's my standpoint, my opinion. For me, it looks exactly like the situation Dortmund had. The signs are the same and I'll never support such a risky game. Schalke can prove me wrong, we'll talk in 3 years and see where your team's standing.
Cheers :drinkbeer:

Ah, now we are getting somewhere...because Schalke is to itīs nature a dream, and all us fans share that dream.
Maybe the club is in for a rude awakening but it will not be the first time, nor the last no doubt.

We all share dreams with our club, that's totally ok. It was the best time for me, when Stuttgart won the game against ManU.
Fans can dream, but the management shouldn't dream. Even if they share a deep relationship with the club. Your mangement should see the situation realistic, otherwise they'll lose control someday. Dortmund dreamed too, because none of those dreamers wanted to see the truth.

The truth is overrated...The truth is that there was no way for Liverpool to beat Milan when they where 3-0 down at half time. ;)
To a certain degree all fans dream, thatīs true.
But look at Gelsenkirchen...A city in the german rust belt where the unemployment rate is 27%, there is really just one source of pride in Gelsenkirchen nowadays.
There is really just one source of dreams....

I know that Schalke 04 is everything for the people in Gelsenkirchen. And I totally respect that.
But I still think that a management shouldn't dream. They shouldn't overdo it with their shopping tour, because they have responsibility for what happens to the club in near future. And that's a huge responsibility, you shouldn't play with it.

Well, the worst scenario I can see is that we just have to sell all our good players and face relegation...and we have been there before.
The stadiums might be worth a million or two as well..

My bad feeling is for no one on here in this forum-it is for Kuranyi.I fear Hinkel and Hildebrand might follow now.
We gave him so much and atill at a young age he leaves us.That hurts and has made a sign that VFB are a **** club and good players will not sign for us.Kuranyi played here in a wonderful era for team spirit as Hildebrand,Hinkel, Lahm (probably his carrer would be ruined if he stayed at Bayern like Trochowski, Kling, Feulner, Rau, Gorlitz), Tiffert, Hleb and Kuranyi all got in the team together at a wondeful exciting time.VFB is a family club-Kuranyi will not get this at cut throat Schalke.
