i always thought these U20 tournaments were important, mostly because they give you an idea of what your NT has in the future. For example players in my NT like: Sorin, Riquelme, Aimar, Tevez, Crespo all played U20 and shined in them. In the other hand i always thought U17, etc werent important because these players can flop easily.

not necesserily mate. ben auer, micheal zepek (who??), chr mikolajczak, preuss n balitsch all used to play in WM U20. but look at where they're now!!

on the other hand, others like podolski n schweini r into the nat team at very young age. my point is, usually if u're really good, u'll be in NT by the time u're 19 or 20

This german U20 Team isnt good.... i just see delura senesie and jansen as players who can become very good players.....

so, anybody care about the WM U20. it has started already. we're in the same group as argentina, egypt n another i dun remember.
The 4th team is the United States of going to kick Germany's U-20 ass.

This is not a good team imo.

I watched the game and the only player that had a great game was Jansen of Gladbach.
He was even dominating at times, great player.

Well, Pander and Lahm will be out for quite a while so maybe he will get his chance.
Far too early imo, but I guess Klinsi is crazy enough to test him.

Just read on the dfb-site that Oliver Hampel suffered a broken tibia and fibula because of that terrible foul by Mohamed Mahmoud who got a red card for it. :(

Hopefully he won't play a single match for Egypt again in this tournament.

Is Jansen usually a left back? When I saw him for a few games for gladbach he was usually at left midifeld.

actually he's very versatile, he can play LB LM And even left forward....

Wedding is appointed for this weekend. Last thing I have to figure out is how I am going to kidnap Jansen.... and how I will make him say yes at the wedding, or how we are going to fabricate a child. Suggestions from experiences are welcomed!

p.s. to everybody who reads this... dont take it serious... I dont want police busting my frontdoor tonight, like police did to the guy who threatened in a internet-forum to fire fireworks on Dick Advocaat!

I cant say I was disappointed with the performance.
Delura did ok but I expect more.
Senesie was a total failure.
Jansen was good indeed.

The rest I dont expect anything special from. I fear we are going to loose the other 2 games, but I hope we get through as third. The weak-point is the defense. This back for is very weak. Matip is the potentially best but he is very very shaky defensively at times and he is the one who has to stabilize "la quarte-de-idiotes"??? :ninja

yeah that injured defender was one of germany's better ones..

the defense looks lost, and midfield is on thier heels so much covering that they cant mount an attack

I think Schuon was our best player. He saved in some dangerous situations, but almost caused a penalty.

At the end a draw is not too bad for our boys :drinkbeer:

He was good, but defence in general was crap, some stupid mistakes in positioning.

Draw is a good result, but still if Germany lose against gauchos Germany is out (USA will probably beat Egypt).

Yeah, defence wasn't the best today, but I'm wondering what was wrong with Jansen?!? Gerry what did you do with him?!? :laugh:

Anyway, they need to win against Argentina. I hope they do, but for that, the defence must be a lot more organized.

I saw the first 30 minutes and I feel confirmed that this team wont go far in this tournament although the game against China is probably the best possible opponent we could get with finishing 3rd in the group. China dont play very offensive when I saw them and they maybe have to play more offensive against us, and we can play counterattacks. But that would be the best we can do getting to the quarters. And that is already unlikely. I would have prefered when we would have been out after the group stages thus Jansen could play confed Cup, instead in this "Mission Impossible" U-20 journey

If Jansen was called to the Confed cup he wouldn't have played a single minute. I prefer to see him competeing and actually playing in an official tournament than sit and watch. I guess he'll gain more experience in this one (for now).

Jeez what the fuk has been going on round here? Jansen the new star of German football?? World cup 2006 is as good as won.

I've been away in Italy so I haven't seen any of these games but sounds like the same old story, Deulura, Matip and possibly Senesie the best players and the rest pretty average. Still I'll root for the boyz when they play China and hope against hope but you don't need to be a quantum physicist to work out they won't win the thing.

I saw all matches and Senesie has benn total crap.
Delura has been good but he tries too much and his understanding of the game isn't the best.

Jansen was just awesome against Egypt. He was everywhere. Flawless in the defense and much better offensively than almost all midfielder and strikers.
He looks a bit lanky still but should he fill out he will be much better.

Schuon and Adler also play a good tournament. The offense is bad. Freis is disappointing imo.
I don't understand why Banecki doesn't play more.

well he has been impressive lately , he got betta and betta ,technicly decent and quite hard-worker, he was the best player agaisnt egipt. and BTW gerry loves him LOL.

Thats right Merte... Senesie looks like a player who wont make it.
I doubted Jansen, after seeing him, but after I saw good games by him in BL and in U21 I think he will be a contender with Lahm for the LB position.
Jansen aint a technical monkey as I said, hes quite good for a german.
Horst Köppel said today that he believes that, if Jansen stays fit, he will be in the WC2006 squad, Köppel thinks even in the starting line-up if he continues to play like he did.

BTW. Jansen was voted best player of Gladbach after the winter break, by Gladbach fans
