Szabics poised for Cologne move

Hungarian striker Imre Szabics, who has been linked with Blackburn Rovers, looks likely to remain in Germany after agreeing personal terms with newly-promoted Bundesliga side FC Cologne.

Szabics joined Stuttgart in 2003 from Austrian side Sturm Graz and immediately became a regular starter under coach Felix Magath.

He impressed in the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup, but has failed to get along with new boss Matthias Sammer this season and is now keen to leave the Swabians in the summer.

"I want to join Cologne, the club has large potential," Szabics told Stuttgarter Nachrichten after holding talks with Cologne officials.

Stuttgart have signalled that they are ready to sell Szabics for a cut-down price of €500,000 rather than lose him for free when his contract expires next summer and it is expected that they will wrap up the transfer with Cologne in the next few days.

I wouldnt sign this guy. He looks to me like a guy who has his moments but overall is just a very average player at best

No hard feelings Gerry :drinkbeer , but altough croatian and serbian language are very similiar we speak croatian language not serbian because those are 2 different languages :USA_Blue

I only have serbian friends. No croatians or others from ex-yougoslavia.
But maybe we will drin 1-2 or 50 beers at this years oktoberfest together I almost surely will be there. The nice thing there is that people from all over world are there. I talked to Israelis and told those religious fanatics "Good luck with the bitches"... :nono

But maybe we will drin 1-2 or 50 beers at this years oktoberfest together I almost surely will be there. The nice thing there is that people from all over world are there. I talked to Israelis and told those religious fanatics "Good luck with the bitches"... :nono
