Who do you think is the better manager Bobby Robson or Kevin Keegan only in there time at Newcastle not anywhere else. Whilst Bobby has done a great job and I think he can do it for a while to come I just can't help but think that KK got the club into the position to employ the likes of Bobby Robson and simply put he has done a better job at Newcastle.

Well, the KK years were very special, but so have the RR years. I think we shouldn't be saying one's better than the other, because they are different style managers, and also, they have achieved different things in different situations. KK has done more, but I think RR will stay longer in total, and will definitely win more! I think we can't compare until RR has retired.

Hmmm difficult one that. If I had to choose now I think I`d stick with what we have. There again, KK has more years ahead of him. I think RR would be my first choice because of what he has done. Dont get me wrong. KK also saved the club, but with alot more money. RR saved the club with next to nothing. And lets face it, after RG we were on the way down. I still haven`t convinced myself haha but I think RR

People say that KK didn't go for the future. He got the likes of clark, elliot and Watson he did built for the future

Kevin Keegan built the foundations for where the club stands now, even though the likes of Dalgleish and Gullitt had a damn good go at demolishing it,when K.K. departed he himself said he did'nt think he could take the club any further. Since Bobby has been at the helm things have picked up again although at times it has been an uphill struggle. In my opinon our future for the next few seasons now lies in the right hands wor BOBBY, mind you I havent always thought this way, on a few occasions I had thought Bobby's training methods were the wrong ones, I'm glad to say I was wrong and have since then eaten those words. It's harsh to ask who has been our best manager as our present one is still with us working magic, maybe the right time to ask that question is when Bobby's reign comes to an end? :smile

I'm still never sure about the whole KK resigning lark. The PLC came and his funds were cut he had to sign a long term deal knowing this and simply he didn't have the control he used to have. Had Sir John Halls stayed and was still chairman now my guess is KK would still be there and we would have one or two trophies to our name

A lot of truths in what you have said Phil, sadly we will probably never get to know what really went on behind closed doors :eek

Well KK still stands by the fact he left because of the PLC. The board however have come up with a million and one different reasons and even a made up statement so I'm going with KK

That was what the club said not KK. KK said that he left because the PLC took over, took away loads of his control (ie cash and being able to choose any player he waned) and wanted him to sign a new contract. While all this happened chairman at the time Dougie Hall was sat on a beach somewhere in Spain not even bothering to talk to KK direct. KK was happy at any of this especially the lack of respect from his new chairman and so left. Thats the version I belive anyway

Not sure if I've posted who I thought but KK has always been my fav. Don't think he;'s a better manager but he's my fav manager of all time at the club.

Keegan. He turned a team struggling in the dark depths of Nationwide (or whatever it was called back then) and got us challenging for the Prem title.

:sky - what are these people doing here ?! They scare me !

Thats the real reason why he's my fav. Not the best manager in the world but gave you the best football I have ever seen. Bobby not is giving us great football but also playing safe football so we actually have a chance of winning the league.

It's the ghosts of Ruud and Kenny

But there's 3 of them ... ?

And if what you're saying is true - they definitely shouldn't be here !

But there's 3 of them ... ?

1 for Ruud 1 for Kenny and 1 for his ego

And if what you're saying is true - they definitely shouldn't be here !

Nah there pretending they have something to do with Newcastles current form.
