There seems to be no shortage when it comes to nominating the most disappointing team this year in the bundesliga. Once i noticed that the lautern actually had a win (admittedly over cottbus) i thought that they would have to be the most disappointing so far. Yet, of course, there is also leverkusen. even though kusen did not do to well over the summer, surely fourth(?) bottom in the table is a quite a bit below expectation.
Bayern - Bochum 4-1
Lautern - Cottbus 4-0
Gladbach - Bielefeld 3-0
Hannover - Dortmund 0-3
Hertha - Nurnberg 2-1
Schalke - HSV 3-0
Wolfsburg - Leverkusen 2-0
Bremen - Rostock 0-0
Stuttgart - TSV 4-1
No unexpected results this weekend, as everything went to plan. As predicted by myself (nothing can beat self-promotion!), bochum continue their downward spiral but are still in the top half, and more surprisingly with a positive goal diffrence despite two big recent thrashings. The top of the table is starting to loook interesting as the biggest challenger to bayern, dortmund, are in good form with a 3-0 win at hannover and remain two points behind. More importantly, "the" team from the ruhr valley, had all guns blazing with agali, asamoah and the legendary ebbe sand all scoring in the important win against a so far unimpressive HSV ourfit this season. We remain only 4 points behind bayern, which is quite a feat considering how depleted our squad was at the commencement of the season. Hertha came from 1-0 down to score twice, through marcelinho in the last 15 minutes to defeat nurnberg. Hertha have had a quite an inconsistent season so far, as a lot was expected of them (well, from me anyway) but they are not too far off champions league place, with 12 points in seventh.
A massive game for kusen and lautern when they meet in the next round of the bundesliga (Oct .19) as they have only and of course at the olympic stadium where TSV host ruhr valley giants, schalke. Dortmund could also go top, if rostock get a favourable result at home aginst bayern, as they host bielefeld.
