FIRST MEETING IN FIGC
WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES
OF THE ULTRAS MOVEMENT
FOR A CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE

Rome 11/05/2005

The commitment assumed by the FIGC to start a constructive dialogue with the representatives of the fans so that the matches are played in a civil and healthy competitive atmosphere, had its first concrete confirmation in Rome today: at the FIGC offices in Via Allegri, President Carraro, the vice-presidents Abete and Mazzini and the federal secretary Ghirelli met with the representatives of the organized fans of the "Ultras Movement".
During the meeting, the episodes and events of the past few weeks that led to the action from the Internal Affairs Ministry and the approval by the FIGC of new sports justice code norms were discussed; the situation regarding Italian stadiums was reviewed, even from a logistic and organizational point of view, and the problem regarding the price of tickets was also faced; relations between organized fan clubs and football institutions were discussed with the aim of guaranteeing both inside and outside the stadiums a climate of sportsmanship and safety without influencing the passion of hundreds of thousands of fans that with their participations and their enthusiasm contribute to the prestige and importance of Italian football.
The meeting held today was useful to setting up discussions: in the newt few days, a work table on specific issues will be opened, starting from a "model stadium" that is based on the traditions and culture of football in our country.
