A ton of matches have been played so far - from Holstebro - Jetsmark in the first round back in July 2004 to FCK - Brøndby in the second semi-final two weeks ago and now the final between Brøndby IF and FC Midtjylland at Parken, which actually is a repeat of the final two seasons ago. Brøndby won that final 3-0. Brøndby alone has nine players in the squad that played the final in 2003.

The Danish Cup is somewhat underestimated - well, definitely compared to other great ones such as the Spanish, Copa del Rey, and the English FA Cup. The Danish Cup Final is nevertheless a great day for everyone around the two participating clubs. I for one enjoyed my debute, when I attended the final in 2003 - it of course helped that my club won the bloody thing. :)

In 2003 there were close to 35,000 in the stands at Parken and last season's final saw just under 40,000, when AaB played FCK. FCK is meanwhile the defending Cup-champions.
The record is 41,044, which was set in 1998 when Brøndby beat FCK 4-1.

The all time greatest in the history of the Danish Cup is AGF with their total of nine wins.
Brøndby have four wins, whilst FCM, in their 6-year-lifetime, never have won a title.

17 players have been selected - two players will get excluded before kick-off. Wieghorst is likely to be one of them - he's having a minor injury and is probably only in the squad as an experienced motivater. The other player is hopefully Ruben Bagger, who's heavily - sadly enough - past his prime.

1. Karim Zaza
16. Casper Ankergren
3. Morten Wieghorst
4. Per Nielsen
5. Dan Anton Johansen
6. Sebastian Svärd
7. Thomas Kahlenberg
8. Kim Daugaard
9. Martin Retov
12. Jonas Kamper
15. Ruben Bagger
17. Morten Skoubo
19. Johan Elmander
20. Asbjørn Sennels
22. Daniel Agger
24. Johan Absalonsen
26. Mads Jørgensen

Brondby wins.

So (correct me if I'm wrong), if BIF win the league, then FCM will make it to the UEFA Cup?

If Brøndby win the league, then FCM makes it to the UEFA cup, if FCK win the league then Brøndby (as cup winner) and the 3rd best team in the league is ready for the UEFA cup....
